#CTC362 CASE Sketch Page 71

CASE the Sketch from Page 71 of the Annual Catalogue:

And in simpler form:

I've chosen the stepped up version on the right hand side to CASE.

I started with a base card of Crumb Cake and cut another panel of Crumb Cake to emboss with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder. Onto that using Crumb Cake again, I've adhered a few fences and grain bags that were diecut using the Birthday Chick dies.

I've stamped Hey Birthday Chick images in Memento ink, coloured with Stampin' Blends and diecut each with the matching Birthday Chick die. Using the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch, I've punched two Soft Sea Foam and one Just Jade shapes. The greeting from Hey Birthday Chick was stamped in Just Jade ink onto Basic White and punched as the last piece to my square. Next i've punched two of the chicks so only part of the image fitted on the shape, and adhered it to the Soft Sea Foam shapes lining up the postage edges.

I've overlapped each and adhered them together to form a square then added the whole panel to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Such fun images makes it a lot less formal than the original.

We can't wait to see you join us for this challenge. Post your creation to our Facebook using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next up we have the lovely Rebecca:

#CTC352 CASE the January-June Mini Catalogue

CASE the January-June Mini Catalogue

I was drawn to the card in the middle of Page 26:

I've chosen the Simply Marbleous 6" x 6" DSP and based my colour choice from there.

My base card is Coastal Cabana, with Rectangular Postage Stamp punched shapes of So Saffron, Balmy Blue and Blushing Bridge cardstock along with the co-ordinating DSP including Coastal Cabana. Some of the shapes have a piece of DSP adhered to it which you can see if you look closely at the picture in the catalogue.

In place of the white diecuts and embossing, I've opted to stamp my images with Basic Gray ink using the Quiet Meadow stamp set. The co-ordinating dies were cut from Basic Gray cardstock and the Meadow dies. My card is a little wider and not as deep as the one above and I've just increased the space between the sections a little.

I'm sure you could change the effect of this multiple times depending on your choice of colours, images and diecuts. Maybe a change in orientation too, might try that another time.

We would like to see you play along with a CASE from the new Mini Catalogue. Uploard your photo to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening using the link over to the right if you need it.

Next on the hop we have our talented friend Judy:

#CTC335 CASE an Annual Catalogue 3D Project

CASE an Annual Catalogue 3D project:

The little coffin box on Page 50 far left caught my eye:

We don't celebrate Halloween, but I've decided to stay with the similar colours and a cheerier theme of dogs.

I've used the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch and Smokey Slate cardstock to punch five stamps and used the same portrait/landscape layout as the picture above. The stripes in the background came from the Black and White Sale-a-bration set of papers - Beautifully Penned. I've attached the DSP to a base of Pumpkin Pie.

The postage stamps have had the little dog from Sweet Little Stockings stamped with Black Memento ink. One has been stamped onto scrap card and diecut with the Stockings Dies to sit over the edge of the postage stamp. I've diecut some stars from Pumpkin Pie cardstock with the Stitched Stars dies and added them to the opposite corners of the CASE. To finish I've used Happiest of Birthdays and Black Memento ink to stamp the greeting which was trimmed close to the solid edge and added to the card with Stampin Dimensionals.

By stamping off the edge of the punched shape it could look as if I have used more than just the one dog image.

I might pop this away for hubby's birthday later this month - reminds me of our cheeky little fellows, but it seems today is not the day for looking at the camera!

Fancy CASEing an annual catalogue 3D project? We would love you to share it to our Facebook page using the link over to the right before next Sunday evening.

Next on the hop we have Tina, I can't wait to see what she has to share with us:

#CTC303 CASE the Sale-a-bration Catalogue

We're back CASEing the Sale-a-bration catalogue again this week:

I've chosen the image at the top of Page 17:

I've used Smokey Slate cardstock for the base card and the top layer. I've grabbed my Subtles scrap folder and chosen Blushing Bride, Highland Heather, Pool Party, So Saffron and Soft Sea Foam for my faux postage stamps. I opted not to CASE the embossing as above and instead used Basic Gray ink and the frame from Punch Party onto all the colours. I then inked another image onto a Post-It note and cut out the inside to make a template for my pictures.

I've stamped the little butterfly in lieu of the hearts in the CASE card onto the layer of Smokey Slate. I've then used my Chalk Pen to colour the image white then I've painted over it with Wink of Stella. I've embossed this piece with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder.

I've used the joey images from Kangaroo & Company, One of them is a full image and the other is chopped off but I didn't want to ink outside the frame so I just popped my template on before stamping. The greeting is from the same stamp set. I've punched them all out with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch and adhered the pictured shapes onto the Smokey Slate layer. I've wrapped Whisper White Baker's Twine around this and then added the layer to the base card. The greeting has been adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals and my bow was added to the greeting so it didn't hide one of the faces. I've used some rhinestones to finish off.

It's hard to capture Wink of Stella in a picture, so I'll show another angle:

Even Simba showed a bit more interest than he has been lately

We hope you can play along this week. Take a photo of your project and add it to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening using the link over on the right.

Next up we have the lovely Peta and her stunning floral project:

#CTC296 Step Up a Mini Catalogue Project

#CTC296 Step Up a Mini Catalogue Project.

I've chosen the card on the left of Pg 28:

I've started with a basic card using stamps, ink and paper along with a punch... relatively #simplestamping. I've chosen Prized Peony for the images and Beautiful Friendship for the greeting. Each card has a 3" wide strip of Peony Garden DSP added to the right hand side.To ensure all my images looked the same, I've punched blanks using the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch and Whisper White cardstock. On the Stamparatus plate I've placed a piece of card with the negative remaining and secured it with the magnets then inserted each 'blank' in with the stamp of choice using Gray Granite ink.

Next I've stepped it up with a touch of colouring using Petal Pink and Light Daffodil Stampin' Blends but only colouring the shaded area and not the whole flower. A piece of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon under the greeting and some Flowers for All Seasons gems

My next step up I've coloured all of the flower image with the same colour Stampin' Blends. I've added a strip of Forever Gold Specialty DSP along the edge of the Peony Garden DSP, and a small piece of foliage in the centre under the greeting. Each image has been embossed using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. The Organdy ribbon has been folded and stuck to the back of each embossed shape before being added in place using Stampin' Dimensionals. The same Flowers for All Seasons gems to finish.

This picture shows the a bit more of the detail:

And here you can see the transition from simple to more detailed:

We'd love to see your take on the Challenge. It doesn't have to be three cards, you could just pick a card from the mini catalogue and step it up! Add it to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next up let's visit Michelle and her pretty trio of cards:

#CTC292 CASE the Layout on Page 159

This is the layout we are CASEing:

Or there's a sketch if you prefer:

I've used the Menagerie Mix-up stamp set to create some critters, although I will confess I didn't order the dies. Onto Whisper White, I've used Gray Granite ink, and stamped a piglet and a mouse near the bottom of the card. I've coloured them in with Stampin' Blends and using the Granny Apple Green ink pad, I've added a flower to the mouse, then a package to the piglet and a scrap of DSP. The flower was coloured with the Blends and the package fussy cut and glued to the shape.

Next I've wrapped some linen thread around the cardstock and added a bow. I've used Flirty Flamingo cardstock to punch a Rectangular Postage Stamp shape which has been shifted from the middle of the picture so the critters weren't covered and added a greeting using has Happiest of Birthdays in Gray Granite ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

I've used Flirty Flamingo as my card base and added a mat of Flirty Flamingo embossed with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder.

I've adhered the focal panel with Stampin' Dimensionals and added a few of the Flowers for Every Season gems.

Apologies, but I have to show off my beautiful peony I showcased my card onto  (I think it's an Herbaceous Peony, but don't have a name and need to do some research).

We'd love you to play along, post your project to our Facebook page using the link over on the right by next Sunday evening. Next up we have Peta and her gorgeous Xmas card:

#CTC290 CASE the Colours of Plaid Tidings DSP

CASE the Colours of Plaid Tidings DSP: Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo, Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Seaside Spray, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White - that's a lot of colour, but don't worry, you don’t have to use them all!

I've managed to use nine I think. I've diecut using the Well Written Dies, Shaded Spruce leaves, Melon Mambo and Blackberry Bliss flowers, Bumblebee & Pumpkin Pie butterflies and a Misty Moonlight bird. Behind each flower is a tiny square of Bumblebee cardstock. And for the butterflies I've swapped the negative pieces. I've adhered them all to a top layer of Crumb Cake which was embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder and matted onto Whisper White cardstock.

I've used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach this layer to my base card of Mango Melody. The greeting is from Peaceful Moments using Blackberry Bliss ink onto Bumblebee cardstock and punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. To help it to pop a little I've used the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch and Whisper White cardstock to pop behind my greeting then adhered it to the top layer. I've added some of the Flowers for Every Season gems and finished by splashing around some Wink of Stella.

As you can see, what I should have been doing was mowing the lawns, but they'll still be there tomorrow! Here's the Wink of Stella picture:

There's such a range of colours to pick from this week, hopefully you'll be inspired to play along. Make your card and post the picture to our Facebook page by next Sunday evening using the link over on the right.
