#CTC300 CASE the Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue

Choose any project to CASE from the new January - June Mini Catalogue:

I've used the top image on Page 23:

I've diecut a piece of Whisper White cardstock twice with a die from the Curvy Dies. The bottom piece has a greeting from Quite Curvy stamped in Balmy Blue ink. I've attached both pieces to a a mat of Paper Blooms DSP which is new from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. I've added this to a base of Balmy Blue cardstock.

Next I've stamped a bird in Night of Navy ink and coloured it with Petal Pink and Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends before diecutting with the Curvy Dies. I've snipped a couple of pieces of Forever Gold Specialty DSP and adhered them to the border of the diecut. I've added a bow from the retired Old Olive Linen Thread and then popped the little bird in place to finish.

The crew would love to see your take on the Challenge this week, join our Facebook page and post your project using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next please visit Rebecca and her cute card:

#CTC296 Step Up a Mini Catalogue Project

#CTC296 Step Up a Mini Catalogue Project.

I've chosen the card on the left of Pg 28:

I've started with a basic card using stamps, ink and paper along with a punch... relatively #simplestamping. I've chosen Prized Peony for the images and Beautiful Friendship for the greeting. Each card has a 3" wide strip of Peony Garden DSP added to the right hand side.To ensure all my images looked the same, I've punched blanks using the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch and Whisper White cardstock. On the Stamparatus plate I've placed a piece of card with the negative remaining and secured it with the magnets then inserted each 'blank' in with the stamp of choice using Gray Granite ink.

Next I've stepped it up with a touch of colouring using Petal Pink and Light Daffodil Stampin' Blends but only colouring the shaded area and not the whole flower. A piece of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon under the greeting and some Flowers for All Seasons gems

My next step up I've coloured all of the flower image with the same colour Stampin' Blends. I've added a strip of Forever Gold Specialty DSP along the edge of the Peony Garden DSP, and a small piece of foliage in the centre under the greeting. Each image has been embossed using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. The Organdy ribbon has been folded and stuck to the back of each embossed shape before being added in place using Stampin' Dimensionals. The same Flowers for All Seasons gems to finish.

This picture shows the a bit more of the detail:

And here you can see the transition from simple to more detailed:

We'd love to see your take on the Challenge. It doesn't have to be three cards, you could just pick a card from the mini catalogue and step it up! Add it to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next up let's visit Michelle and her pretty trio of cards:

#CTC288 CASE a Kit Card/Project from Either Catty

CASEing the Kit Card/Project from either catalogue this week:

I've chosen the image on the bottom far right.

I've embossed Whisper White cardstock with the Absolutely Argyle 3D Embossing folder, having spritzed lightly with water to make it not crack.

After adding that to a base card of thick Whisper White, I've punched the Red Velvet Paper with the Vases Builder Punch and selected some of the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper images to use as my foliage. A tiny strip of In Good Taste DSP was my shelf and the greeting was from Lovely You using Night of Navy onto Whisper White and cutting the banner. Everything was adhered using my multi purpose glue

I love it, but wish you could see the texture, so here's another angle:

Next on the hop we have Judy!!

#CTC275 CASEing the Sketch on Page 130

The Crew are CASEing the card on the right on page 130:

Here's the sketch to help you play along:

My go to thick Whisper White card base has a mat of Just Jade embossed with the Bricks & Mortar 3D Embossing folder. I've diecut with the Stitched Rectangles a piece of Flowers for All Seasons DSP which gave me a mat and a frame. After adhering the mat in place (realise it could have been a bit further up, but it's ok for a change), I've turned the frame around and popped some Foam Adhesive Strips on the back to give some dimension and it made the stripes just a little different.

I've used the Layering Circles Dies to cut a piece of Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper and a piece of Whisper White the same size, then adhered the gold to the white with a bit of multipurpose adhesive. I've popped this onto Stampin' Dimensionals avoiding the edge of the frame so it was the same height.

I've diecut a bird in Cinnamon Cider from the Birds & More dies, adding a scrap of Basic Black cardstock behind the bird to define the markings the die makes and glued it in place. The greeting is from a set in the Beginner Brochure called Four Season Floral. I've used Just Jade ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it down so it didn't cover up the gold foil.

To finish I've added a (retired) Baker's Twine bow and some of the little Flowers for Every Season Gems.

We'd love to see your version of the sketch. You have until next Sunday evening to make a card and add the picture to our Facebook page using the link over to the right.

Next up we have the lovely Judy May:

Social Stamping - Change

The theme is Change for Kelly Kent's final Social Stamping Covid Blog Hop. There is no doubt Covid 19 has certainly brought Change to many of our lives. It is also what allows us to grow as we learn new things, alter our mindsets, adapt to new processes etc.

With that in mind, the card I have chosen to create today is a bit random as I told myself to make a card with a difference - something I hadn't done before, and with the limited tools I had taken to a crop day. Yes, we are lucky to be safely able to return to having our regular crafting sessions in NZ. Today's group was a monthly crop which I'm not always able to attend, but really enjoy catching up with the ladies when I get the chance.

I have used a base of Smokey Slate. For the top layer, I've used a piece of Whisper White cardstock and the group of mini triangles from the Stitched Triangles dies, then just placed it in different positions to make the cut outs. This was adhered to a mat of Night of Navy and attached to the base card. I've used a scrap of gold from the centre of a wreath from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper and diecut using the same dies, inserting the gold into a few of the blank spaces.

I also broke out the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch I didn't think I needed but have since realised now versatile it is! (I don't think I'm alone lol). The greeting is from Under My Umbrella in Basic Gray ink on a 1/2" strip of Whisper White, with the background mat of Night of Navy being 3/4" wide. This card could definitely be stepped up, but it fit the brief - and is a bit of a change from my usual creations.

Although this is the final Covid blog hop, Kelly has decided to evolve towards a monthly social hop and will continue on the last Saturday of the month going forward.

Until then, please enjoy the rest of this hop by visiting Andrea:
