I decided to have a go at a different challenge this week and turned to Just Add Ink where they are using this photo for inspiration. If you want to join in as well, click on the photo for more information:
I have had a dabble before but decided to give the alcohol and Stampin' Blends background another go. Such fun. Impossible to have two alike. I've probably added a little too much as my vellum warped a little but I ran it through my Cut & Emboss to help flatten it out.
After making my background, I used a piece of Early Espresso card the size of my card front and used the trimmer to cut out the centre so it was 1cm wide all the way around. I then adhered the vellum to the frame and added this to a base of Thick Basic White cardstock.
Next I've cut five Basic White flowers, So Saffron centres in two sizes and some Granny Apple Green leaves using the Pierced Blooms Dies.
I've added the centres to each flower then grouped the flowers and leaves and adhered them together as I went. I've added them to the panel using Stampin' Dimensionals. The greeting from Hey Birthday Chick was stamped in Soft Suede onto So Saffron cardstock and fussy cut. The left end is attached using a Stampin' Dimensional athe right end is attached with Multipurpose Glue so it has a wave in the greeting. Champagne rhinestones were added next.
With Wink of Stella on the centres of the flowers to finish.
CASE a project and give it an Easter twist
I've chosen the Hot Dog card at the top of Page 72, switching it from a skinny card to a standard size:
I've stamped five of the hatching chicken images from Hey Birthday Chick in Black Memento ink onto Basic White cardstock and diecut them with the Birthday Chick dies. Next I've used Stampin' Blends in Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Call Me Clover for the eggs and a few other colours for the features and hat.
The chicks have been glued to a strip of Dandy Garden DSP which was added to a Bumblebee cardstock base. I white heat embossed the greeting from Timeless Tulips with onto Basic Black cardstock and diecut it with the stitched Hydrangea die.
Next up we have Julia and her stunning butterflies:
For the crazy chicken with the cupcake, I've used Blushing Bride to water colour her body with Melon Mambo for her 'hair', and Flirty Flamingo blends for the feet and legs. The cupcake was So Saffron with Stampin' Markers in Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo for the cupcake case, and a Sahara Sand candle.
The ballooon chicken is So Saffron Stampin' Blends with Flirty Flamingo balloon, feet and details and a Blushing Bride bow tie.
The fences are Sahara Sand. All diecuts were using the Birthday Chick dies. The Happy Birthday words are cut in Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride and I've offset them a little to look like a shadow.
The top layer is Seaside Spray and I've used Whisper White Chalk ink pad to sponge some clouds. A little hard to see but I've used the little criss cross die as a stamp wtih Sahara Sand ink for some dirt along the base of the card around the fences. This layer was matted onto Whisper White cardstock and added to a So Saffron card base.
Next up is our lovely friend Tina and she's been having a bit of fun with triangles this week:
