#CTC386 CASE Mini Catalogue Sketch

CASE the Mini Catalogue Sketch on Page 30

My card is a real example of Simple Stamping today. Stamps, ink and paper. You could even get away with no stamping - all you need is He's The Man Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Onto a base of Mint Macaron cardstock, I've background stamped the speckled image from Quiet Meadow inked in Early Espresso ink.

My panel and other elements are from a sheet of He's The Man Specialty Designer Series Paper which has already been diecut - you only have to pop the image out of the sheet. I've backed the main panel with Cajun Craze cardstock and to take the sharp corners off, I've used the panel as a template and just trimmed each of the cardstock corners, then adhered the panel to the mat.

I've embossed a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. It has actually been double embossed as I wasn't sure I liked the original so I popped it back in the folder and embossed it the other direction. The result also gave a softer finish as the fibers were broken down and it feels like a thick ribbon. This was glued behind the greeting and all the elements were adhered to the main panel.

The panel has been attached to the base card at a slight angle using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Might be useful for a certain male in the house celebrating his birthday this month... sssh!

We would love to see your version of the sketch this week. Just add your project to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next on the hop we have our fabulous friend Julia and her stunning Christmas card:

#CTC383 - CASE Artistic Expression Section

CASE the Artisic Expression Section of the Annual Catalogue - Pages 90 - 119:

I was drawn to the card in the centre of the picture on Page 103:

I white heat embossed the floral image from Quiet Meadow onto Vellum then fussy cut it out.

A scrap of Sun Prints DSP caught my eye and I chose that instead of the stamped piece in the CASE card, I cut a full size panel of Gray Granite and layered a strip of Parakeet Party cardstock and the Sun Print DSP strip onto it. I adhered the embossed foliage to the left hand edge and added the panel to a base of Night of Navy cardstock. The greeting is from Peaceful Moments, stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Petal Pink cardstock before trimming and adhering in place. To finish I've used some Polished Dots.

This would be an easy card to replicate in many different colour combinations.

What catches your eye in the Artistic Expression section of the Annual Catalogue? CASE a card and post a photo on our Facebook page before next Sunday evening for us to enjoy - you can use the link over on the right if you need to.

#CTC370 CASE a Mini Catalogue Bundle Project

CASE a Bundle Project from Pgs 75-83 of the January-June Mini Catalogue:

I thought it was about I played with the Hello Ladybug Bundle. So it was this card on Page 80 for me, just switching things a little bit, keeping the same layout.

I've punched the base of the ladybug from Basic Black cardstock using the Ladybug Builder Punch. The wings are Black Memento dots with Parakeet Party for the main colour. I have then punched these out with the same Ladybug Builder Punch and adhered to the neck of the main body.

The leaves are Garden Green cardstock punched with the Ladybug Builder punch again and then spritzed and squished up then undone and left to dry. I love the texture this gives.

I've added background texture to Sahara Sand using a stamp from Quiet Meadow and Soft Suede ink stamped off once. Then I've run this layer through the Cut & Emboss machine with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. Behind this I've added a mat of Parakeet Party cardstock then I've added it to a base of Thick Whisper White.

The greeting is from Hello Ladybug stamped in Soft Suede ink onto Parakeet Party cardstock and diecut with one of the Beautiful Shapes Dies then stuck in place.

The leaves were adhered to the ladybug and they were added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I think I will be able to move on from mourning the loss of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock after the introduction of this new In Colour - well for two years anyway...

The crew look forward to seeing you CASE a Mini Catalogue Bundle project, posting your creation to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

#CTC352 CASE the January-June Mini Catalogue

CASE the January-June Mini Catalogue

I was drawn to the card in the middle of Page 26:

I've chosen the Simply Marbleous 6" x 6" DSP and based my colour choice from there.

My base card is Coastal Cabana, with Rectangular Postage Stamp punched shapes of So Saffron, Balmy Blue and Blushing Bridge cardstock along with the co-ordinating DSP including Coastal Cabana. Some of the shapes have a piece of DSP adhered to it which you can see if you look closely at the picture in the catalogue.

In place of the white diecuts and embossing, I've opted to stamp my images with Basic Gray ink using the Quiet Meadow stamp set. The co-ordinating dies were cut from Basic Gray cardstock and the Meadow dies. My card is a little wider and not as deep as the one above and I've just increased the space between the sections a little.

I'm sure you could change the effect of this multiple times depending on your choice of colours, images and diecuts. Maybe a change in orientation too, might try that another time.

We would like to see you play along with a CASE from the new Mini Catalogue. Uploard your photo to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening using the link over to the right if you need it.

#CTC344 CASE an Embossing Project

CASE an Embossing Project - you choose, heat embossed, dry embossed....

I've turned to Page 54 of the July-December Mini Catalogue and the card on the bottom right:

I've started with a piece of Basic White cardstock which I white heat embossed twice with the image from Quiet Meadow. I've then used the resist ink technique with Pool Party ink and a blending brush. Next I've dry embossed this with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing folder.

I've added a couple of strips of Pattern Party DSP. Onto this a diecut from Meadow Dies of foliage in Mango Melody was added, as it toned with my choice of DSP and added colour without the fussiness of the original card. My greeting is stamped in Basic Gray ink from Turtle Friends onto a strip of Basic White and adhered in place.

The whole layer was added to a base of Basic Gray cardstock and finished with a few Metallic Pearls.

My embossing doesn't stand out as much as the original but it works for what I was after. Not sure if that was my colour sponging choice or the image I used was a little finer than the one they used to emboss.

We hope to see you play along CASEing an Embossing project this week. Just post your project to our Facebook page using the link over on the right. You have to join the page first and answer a couple of simple questions.

I can't wait to see what Rachel has to share with us this week:

#CTC336 Sale-a-bration

Back CASEing the Sale-a-bration catalogue:

The card at the bottom of Page 12 won this time around for me:

I started by setting up my Stamparatus with the splotch stamp from Hydrangea Haven and a piece of Basic White cardstock. I've inked, cleaned, hinge stamped and repeated with each colour I used - starting at the top, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce and Balmy Blue. Next I've used a Soft Suede Stampin' Marker and flicked the tip against the lid to create some speckles all over.

I've gold heat embossed the flower from Quiet Meadow onto Vellum and fussy cut each one, then attached it to the coloured layer with glue dots. I've trimmed a piece of Basic Black cardstock and added the diecut greeting in Basic White from Birthday Chick. I popped Stampin' Dimensionals on the back and attached to a base of Thick Basic White cardstock.

Maybe this angle will show the speckles and embossing better:

Surprise, surprise I even managed to get this card in the post this week - unlike the many cards still waiting in my stash!

We would love to see what you create using the Sale-a-bration catalogue as your inspiration. If you play along you can use the link over on the right to post your photo to our Facebook page - please do so before next Sunday evening. Less than a fortnight left to earn your Sale-a-bration freebies!

Next up we have our friend Rachel and I can't wait to see her creation!

#CTC334 CASE the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite

CASE the Gingerbread and Peppermint Suite:

I've used the image top left of the photo above.

I chose one of the Black and White sheets of Pattern Party DSP for my background but to bring in a bit more colour, I've used a Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Marker and a ruler, and placed the ruler on each black line and drew a coloured line next to it, horizontally and vertically..

I added the DSP to the Basic White cardbase. Instead of the foil panel in the CASEd card, I've used a piece of Basic White and embossed it with the Painted Texture 3D folder which I mounted crooked on a same size piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I've punched out six Basic White blanks using the Medium Daisy Punch. and set up my Stamparatus with a scrap piece of card having a shape cut out to become my template. I've added each white daisy into the negative space and stamped it with the medium daisy from Daisy Lane in Flirty Flamingo ink. These were adhered in pairs and attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The ribbon is White Crinkle Seam Binding which I've held against the Flirty Flamingo ink pad with a tissue and pulled the ribbon across the ink, then left it to dry. The greeting is from Quiet Meadow in Black Memento ink of Basic White card. I've used the Tasteful Labels dies to cut the shape out and then I've done the same with a scrap of Flirty Flamingo and trimmed around the stitched outer edge to create a frame for the greeting. The ribbon was attached behind the greeting and this was also added to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This is such a versatile layout and would lend itself to many different themes.

What catches your eye in the Gingerbread and Peppermint Suite? We would love to see your CASEd project added to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening using the link over on the right.

Next on the hop we have Rebecca!

#CTC325 CASE a Die Bundle

CASE a Die Bundle from pages 156-161 of the Annual Catalogue:

Page 160 for me and this card on the bottom left:

Firstly I cut three of the same die silhouettes from Meadow Dies in Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Basic White. I changed the orientation to landscape and cut a top layer from a sheet of In Good Taste DSP which was attached to a mat of Blackberry Bliss and added to a base card of Basic White.

The diecuts were added in a fan shape and adhered with a rectangle of Blackberry Bliss card added, then the greeting from Quiet Meadow stamped in Blackberry Bliss was diecut with the same Meadow Dies and adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals. Lastly a little butterfly with the words stamped in Blackberry Bliss onto a scrap of Basic White and again using the Meadow Dies to cut out, also attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.

We look forward to seeing what you create using the Die Bundle section of the catalogue as your inspiration.

Next up we have Monique with a little bit of Christmas inspiration for you:

#CTC318 CASE a Die Bundle from the New Catalogue

Welcome to our weekly blog hop where this week you'll find us CASE a Die Bundle from the New Annual Catalogue (pages 157-161):

I've used the picture at the top left of Page 161:

The base card is So Saffron and I've cut another panel of So Saffron and embossed it with the new Bark 3D Embossing Folder before adhering to the base to give some more interest. I stuck some Adhesive Sheet to the back of some So Saffron cardstock and diecut several butterflies using the Meadow Dies. I've then randomly attached them to the embossed panel.

The greeting from Happiest of Birthdays was stamped in Soft Suede ink onto Basic White cardstock and diecut with the Rectangle Stitched Dies. I've stamped the little flowers from Quiet Meadow around the edge of the greeting in So Saffron to mimic the CASEd card and attached to the panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. My embellishments of choice were gold Metallic Pearls.

Although the original had some stamping on the diecutss, the butterflies didn't need it as the die embossed some detail as it cut giving it a little interest without being busy::

Wonder if you'll find a die bundle that inspires you to make a project and post your photo to our Facebook page prior to next Sunday evening using the link up on the right.

Please carry on with the hop by seeing what our friend Rebecca has for us:
