#CTC349 CASE the Mini Catalogue

CASE the July-December Mini Catalogue before it retires:

This image above is from Page 24 and I've CASED the card top middle.

I've used the Stamparatus to repeat stamp the ornament image from Whimsical Trees so they are not as staggered as the original but it suited what I wanted. I've stamped the images using Basic Gray ink and coloured the ornaments with Stampin' Blends.

Instead of a landscape card I've cut my A4 sheet of cardstock in half lengthways to create a tent card then added my panel to it. I've also added strips of Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. The greeting has been diecut using Tasteful Labels dies and added above the panel with Metallic Pearls to finish.

Quick and easy but perfect for mass producing or adding to that pile of cards I still need to write in - they'll be late again people!!

We hope you'll play along with our last challenge from this catalogue and for the year! You have until 1 January to post your card to our Facebook Challenge page using the link over on the right.

Before you go though - please continue on the hop and check out the fun project Julia has to share - looks like she's going to be spoiling some special people:

CTC338 - CASE Sketch on Pg 34 of Mini

This sketch on Page 34 of the August - December Mini Catalogue:

In a simple format:
I've used a base of Thick Basic White cut lengthwise and folded in half for my base.

Next I've worked out my top layer also in Basic White. I've diecut a panel of little flowers using the Hydrangea Dies. I've heat embossed a hydrangea flower from Hydrangea Haven and a greeting from Peaceful Moments with gold embossing powder onto Basic White cardstock. The flower was diecut with the Hydrangea Dies and the greeting was trimmed to be a strip to fit.

My mat is Evening Evergreen and I've snuck a diecut from the Layering Circles to mat my feature diecut onto. I've cut Gold strips from the Gold & Rose Metallic Specialty Paper to add accent from my perception of the CASE card.

I've added a few of the diecut tiny white flowers and popped a Gold Metallic Pearl in the centre. I've added a piece of Baker's Twine tied in a bow around the centre of the card, focusing the bow to the front. Happily sending this off to my Aunty and Uncle to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Can't wait to see your take of the sketch. Pop your photo up on our Facebook page using the link over on the right.

Next on the hop we have Monique!

#CTC318 CASE a Die Bundle from the New Catalogue

Welcome to our weekly blog hop where this week you'll find us CASE a Die Bundle from the New Annual Catalogue (pages 157-161):

I've used the picture at the top left of Page 161:

The base card is So Saffron and I've cut another panel of So Saffron and embossed it with the new Bark 3D Embossing Folder before adhering to the base to give some more interest. I stuck some Adhesive Sheet to the back of some So Saffron cardstock and diecut several butterflies using the Meadow Dies. I've then randomly attached them to the embossed panel.

The greeting from Happiest of Birthdays was stamped in Soft Suede ink onto Basic White cardstock and diecut with the Rectangle Stitched Dies. I've stamped the little flowers from Quiet Meadow around the edge of the greeting in So Saffron to mimic the CASEd card and attached to the panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. My embellishments of choice were gold Metallic Pearls.

Although the original had some stamping on the diecutss, the butterflies didn't need it as the die embossed some detail as it cut giving it a little interest without being busy::

Wonder if you'll find a die bundle that inspires you to make a project and post your photo to our Facebook page prior to next Sunday evening using the link up on the right.

Please carry on with the hop by seeing what our friend Rebecca has for us:

#CTC249 - Toile Tidings

CASEing anything from the Toile Tidings Suite on pages 6 - 11:

No photo description available.

I ended up going back to the card on page 6 - top right:

And to be fair - I haven't changed a lot. I switched to landscape orientation and used a base of thick Very Vanilla cardstock then added a piece of Toile Tidings DSP. With the Layering Circles dies I cut a Very Vanilla circle (rather than the darker colour in the original) and stamped the image from Greatest Part of Christmas (Hostess set) in Garden Green ink. Using the Botanical Tags Dies, I cut several of the leaf shape. Then I glued the leaves around the edge of the circle and mounted onto the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. I took my Whisper White Baker's Twine and a tissue, and pulled the twine across my ink pad using pressure and the tissue was to stop the ink covering my fingers. I repeated until I had the depth of colour I wanted and set it aside to dry. It was then tied into a bow and popped on with a glue dot. My bling is the gold Metallic Pearls.

Because yesterday was World Cardmaking Day, we were encouraged by our Stampin' Up! associates from the Home Office to take part in World Card SENDING week. We had to sign up and commit to sending a card to the person above us in the queue.  I think I will use this card to send to a lovely lady in France - her comment to me was: "I don't speak English, but I'm so happy to share the card kiss"! How cute is that?? I may have to google a little so she can understand something of what I shall write inside.

I love how cards make connections - the creating, the receiving, the sharing - it is so easy to put aside a few of the mundane things we deal with from day to day and appreciate the love inside a handmade card.

Maybe you'll be inspired to made and send a card this week? If you wish to join the challenge, use the link over on the right and upload your photo before next Sunday evening.  Until then, continue on the hop by visiting the lovely Lauren:

#CTC208 - Favourite Holiday Bundle

So many to pick from!!
I've gone with the very first bundle in the catalogue, Merry Christmas To All, as I just love the script...

Have to admit, I also combined it with another favourite, Signs of Santa! I've used a thick Whisper White card base, and a full size card front of Real Red. My focal DSP is from the All is Bright DSP. The Merry Christmas Thinlits dies were used to cut Tranquil Tide cardstock which I had placed the adhesive sheets over the top to allow the stickiness to take the Dazzlings Diamonds. I stamped on a piece of Wood Textures DSP to add a personal 'Have a Very'.. the gorgeous cutouts from the Signs of Santa Suite have been raised on dimensionals and a few Metallic Pearls to complete...

Close up of bling:

#CTC202 - Favourite Holiday Tags

So many choices this week as we CASE our favourite holiday tag.

With all that choice, I've ended up on the back cover and the tag on the top right:

I've shifted it up a notch to a Christmas card, using a base of thick Whisper White. I've die cut some Pretty Pine thinlits pine tree leaves in Old Olive as my feature.  The tag part is my top layer of whisper white, and the background I've opted for is stamped with the doily from the hostess set "Very Vintage".  Each time it has been stamped off once, to lighten the image  I've used Gold Glimmer paper for my banner instead of the red above, snipped with the Banner Triple punch at each end. I've then staggered the pine die cuts in a kind of wreath pattern and added a pine cone die cut in Soft Suede.  I've then added the greeting (from "Making Christmas Bright") which was stamped in Old Olive, and the word 'Bright' has been gold heat embossed. It was cut using a circle shape from Stitched Shapes Framelits. I've then added another two pine cone diecuts and finished off with Metallic Pearls

Thanks for stopping by. It would be great if you were to play along, create your CASE of your favourite holiday tag, and add it to our Facebook page using the link on the right.  Time to pop over and see Rebecca's creation, which was one of the tags I was considering, but love what she's done with it...

#CTC197 - Joyous Noel

This week the crew are CASEing from pages 28-35 of the Holiday catalogue.

I've headed to page 31, but needed a birthday card for a special young lady and chose the bottom card to CASE:

I've used Night of Navy for my base card and paired it up with Twinkle Twinkle DSP. I've silver embossed the birthday greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday. The banner DSP is from Tropical Escape and I've used the same colour (Blushing Bride) for my sunglasses. That inspiration came from the annual catalogue and the image used for Pocketful of Sunshine on pg 50, I loved how the little sunglasses looked to be hanging from the pocket. I've used Labeler Alphabet for the age of the recipient on the jean tab in Night of Navy ink.

The ribbon was swapped out for Silver Mini Sequin Trim. The diecut embellishments are from Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits using Silver Foil. The finishing touch was the silver Metallic pearls. Happy Birthday Samantha, hope you celebrate in style!

Maybe this angle shows some of the details more clearly:

Please join in by creating a card and posting it to our Facebook page with the link on the right.  Now it's time to hop over and see what the lovely Fi has created for us this week
