#CTC385 CASE a Glitter Project

CASE a Glitter Project

The card on the bottom of Page 33 of the Jul-Dec Mini Catalogue called out to me for this one:

I've started by die-cutting circles using the Beautiful Shapes Dies from Texture Chic Specialty DSP and Gold & Rose Metallic Specialty Paper.

I chose my background of Abigail Rose DSP and added a panel to a base of Thick Very Vanilla cardstock. Before adhering the Abigail Rose panel to the base I added the outside group of circles. I didn't want raised joins, and to get around that I chomped again using the same size circle die where required then butted each die cut up to the other when adhering. Once the outer circles were in place, I trimmed them and added the mat to the base card.

I then filled the inside layers given my card was a standard size and the one I cased was a slimmer card. To get around the big gap that may have been left,  I cut a larger circle from Evening Evergreen cardstock and popped the greeting from Peaceful Moments onto that. I am on a mission to use up some of my ribbon stash and for this I used a (retired) Daffodil Delight sheer ribbon behind the greeting, which was then popped onto the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

As you can see, the Metallic Specialty paper is quite hard to photograph but those circles non Texture Chic are all the same colour.

Do you see a Glitter project you think you'd like to CASE? Please do, and play along before next Sunday evening by posting a photo of your project to our page using the link over on the right.

#CTC384 Sale-a-bration

Back CASEing the Sale-a-bration catalogue for the last time this year:

Sale-a-bration finishes and then we welcome Spring! Looking forward to that but enjoying the bulbs and blossom already. I think that helped inspire my creation today.

I've chosen the bold card in the middle of Page 15:

Granny Apple Green was my colour of choice for the cardbase. I've randomly stamped the card with an image from Daffodil Daydream using Granny Apple Green ink.

I've swapped the next layers a bit from the original. I liked the hexagons used but went with cutting a large hexagon with the Beautiful Shapes Dies out of Basic White cardstock and adding it behind my vellum. The Vellum Layering Designs I chose has script over it and I used it to replace the fancy diecut seen in the original. I've stamped another Daffodil Daydream image with Granny Apple Green ink onto Basic White card, coloured it with Stampin' Blends and diecut it with the Daffodil dies. This was added on top of the vellum.

The greeting is from Charming Sentiments and was heat embossed with White embossing powder onto Mossy Meadow cardstock, trimmed and added using Stampin' Dimensionals. Still getting through my (retired) stash of Flowers for Every Season Gems. They're just so versatile though. This time, I used the green ones.

Initially I was going to add another hexagon over the vellum but it seemed a shame to cover the script so I left it out.

Let's see what Sale-a-bration project has you inspired. Post it to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Let's head on over and check out what our friend Rebecca has been up to:

#CTC380 CASE a Christmas Tree Project

CASE a Christmas Tree Project

I've chosen this card above to the left on Page 13 of the July-December mini catalogue and pretty much CASEd it as it appeared.

Using the Spruced Up Outlines Dies, I've die cut small trees in Evening Evergreen, Garden Green and Granny Apple Green.

Onto a base of Evening Evergreen, I've attached a layer of Pretty Prints DSP. Over that I've popped a piece of Vellum Layering Designs by just attaching adhesive to the centre of the vellum so it won't be seen. The edges of the vellum float a little bit and appear wonky in the photo because it's only grounded in the middle.

Next I've adhered the trees and outlines in place. The greeting is from Christmas Scottie, stamped in Evening Evergreen onto Basic White and diecut with a hexagon from the Beautiful Shapes Dies then added to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. The card was finished with a few (retired) Flowers for Every Season Gems.

I chose not to use the stamps on the trees as in the original. Another option which would have made this fun, would have been to use an embossing folder on the solid trees as I did the last time I used the Spruced Up Outlines Dies.

The crew would love to see you play along by CASEing a Christmas Tree Project and adding your photo to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening. There's a link over on the right if you need it.

Next up we have our lovely friend Tina and her fabulous baubles card:

#CTC374 CASE Favourite Retiring Mini Bundle

CASE your Favourite Mini Catalogue Retiring Bundle:

This time I've chosen a bundle that is retiring although both the stamps and dies appear in the new Annual Catalogue. You'll find it on Pg 80 - the Hello Beautiful Bundle.

I've used a base of Pool Party. Onto a piece of scrap card I've laid strips of Texture Chic Specialty DSP along with a strip of Basic White then attached the panel to the base.

The greeting from Go To Greetings is stamped in Soft Succulent onto the Basic White panel. I've cut a banner using a strip of Vellum Layering Designs and one of the diamond shape dies from Beautiful Shapes Dies cut the banner tail. Two hexagon dies on Petal Pink cardstock cut the hexagon frame and it was attached over the banner and greeting. To finish I've added a few Basic White hydrangeas cut using the Hydrangea Dies.

This Specialty DSP is going to be a new favourite of mine I think. Looks so much better in real life!

We hope to see you play along with the challenge this week. Post the photo of your CASE of your Favourite Retiring Mini Bundle to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next on the hop we have Kathryn and her fabulous card for a handy person:

#CTC373 CASE an Embossing Project

CASE an Embossing Project from either the new Annual Catalogue or the soon to retire January-June Mini Catalogue:

I've chosen the square card on Page 47 which has been CASEd by some of the crew in previous challenges:

I've used Petal Pink card for all my layers including the base. The first layer was embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. The circles were cut using the Beautiful Shapes Dies and sponged around the edges with Petal Pink ink.

The greeting stamped in the same colour ink is from the new Hostess set, Sit Stay Relax. After stamping the greeting I've added the circles to the top layer using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I've stamped the smallest pet image using Gray Granite ink onto Basic White cardstock and fussy cut then added it to the card choosing to omit the ribbon this time. .

It's not a big card, being 4 1/8" square but just a little different from my usual designs.

We hope you can find an Embossing Project to inspire you to join us with a challenge project this week. Post your card photo to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next up we have a little bit of monkey business from Michelle:

#CTC370 CASE a Mini Catalogue Bundle Project

CASE a Bundle Project from Pgs 75-83 of the January-June Mini Catalogue:

I thought it was about I played with the Hello Ladybug Bundle. So it was this card on Page 80 for me, just switching things a little bit, keeping the same layout.

I've punched the base of the ladybug from Basic Black cardstock using the Ladybug Builder Punch. The wings are Black Memento dots with Parakeet Party for the main colour. I have then punched these out with the same Ladybug Builder Punch and adhered to the neck of the main body.

The leaves are Garden Green cardstock punched with the Ladybug Builder punch again and then spritzed and squished up then undone and left to dry. I love the texture this gives.

I've added background texture to Sahara Sand using a stamp from Quiet Meadow and Soft Suede ink stamped off once. Then I've run this layer through the Cut & Emboss machine with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. Behind this I've added a mat of Parakeet Party cardstock then I've added it to a base of Thick Whisper White.

The greeting is from Hello Ladybug stamped in Soft Suede ink onto Parakeet Party cardstock and diecut with one of the Beautiful Shapes Dies then stuck in place.

The leaves were adhered to the ladybug and they were added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I think I will be able to move on from mourning the loss of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock after the introduction of this new In Colour - well for two years anyway...

The crew look forward to seeing you CASE a Mini Catalogue Bundle project, posting your creation to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

#CTC368 CASE Favourite Annual Catalogue Project

CASE Favourite Annual Catalogue Project:

I've chosen the image at the bottom centre of Page 20:

Happy Mother's Day! I really liked this card just the way it is and pretty much copied it for the Mums in our lives.

I've started with a base of Thick Basic White cardstock. Then I've cut a strip of the new Sun Prints DSP and adhered it to the base. The frame I opted to make using the Rectangle Stitched Dies with Pacific Point cardstock. The daffodils were diecut from Crushed Curry DSP for the intricate top layer with Dafffodil Delight for the base colour using the Daffodil Dies. I added Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Crushed Curry to make adhering the pieces together much easier. The leaves and stems are all diecut from Granny Apple Green cardstock using the Daffodil Dies as well. I've folded the reverse pattern of the Sun Prints DSP to wrap the daffodils and tied around the bunch with Linen Thread finishing with a bow. I've adhered this onto the frame and DSP.

The greeting from Daffodil Daydream was White Heat Embossed on Pacific Point DSP and diecut with the Beautiful Shapes Dies. Added to the card using Stampin Dimensionals.

What's your Favourite new Annual Catalogue Project? We hope you get a chance to play along with the Challenge this week, adding your card to our Facebook page using the link over on the right.

Next on the hop we have the lovely Rebecca with a fabulous masculine card:
