Social Stamping - Subtles

So exciting to be able to join Kelly Kent and friends for the monthly Social Stamping Blog Hop! This month our theme is "Subtles" which is one of the Stampin' Up! Colour families.

I used the brick die from Brilliant Wings Dies and cut it four times from a sheet of Soft Sea Foam for my top layer which I've added to a base of Pear Pizzazz. Then I've cut another piece of Mint Macaron and added some of the bricks randomly to give more interest. The greeting is from Pansy Patch and stamped in Mint Macaron ink. I've added a So Saffron diecut butterfly from Meadow Dies and hydrangea petals cut from Hydrangea Dies in Blushing Bride and Highland Heather. 

The hydrangea flowers have had some Fine Tip Glue added to the centre and the flowers and butterfly were smothered in Wink of Stella.

I've even managed to find time for some inside love!

This time I've used the blending brush and sponged with the negative the bricks were cut from, then stamped another greeting from Pansy Patch in Mint Macaron with the same flowers and butterfly as the front again covered with Wink of Stella.

It's a wintery day here in NZ, and we're expecting a whole lot of rain in the next day or so - I hope wherever you are that you are keeping warm and dry!

Social Stamping - Neutrals

Great to be back Social Stamping with Kelly Kent and friends, with a theme this month of "Neutrals" (being one of the colour families Stampin' Up! produce).

I've kept a simple colour palette this time rather than trying to cram all the colours in.

I've also used some of the new product we were able to purchase on preorder from the 2021-22 Annual Catalogue.

Using the broken words image from Quiet Meadow, I've set up my Stamparatus and a piece of Crumb Cake card, stamping the image five times with Soft Suede ink. I've repeated this with a second piece of cardstock.  I've matted one piece with Night of Navy cardstock and the other with Mossy Meadow. These have both been added to a base of Soft Suede cardstock.

Next I diecut some of the silhouette images from Meadow Dies out of Early Espresso cardstock and stuck them over the words.

I've also stamped a greeting from Quiet Meadow and Soft Suede ink onto Crumb Cake and trimmed before matting in the same colours as above. These were attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I think these cards would be lovely for a masculine take or could be switched out to something brighter for a female friend.

These new products are fabulous and you'll see me me using them a lot!

Social Stamping - In Colours

 

Not sure where the month has gone, but we're back Social Stamping with Kelly Kent and friends with our theme this month using "In Colours". 

Given the 2019-2021 In Colours are soon to retire, I thought I would use that set today, but I will share a card I've made previously for a Challenge using the 2020-2022 In Colours further down.

Using Pieced Blooms Dies, I've cut several leaves from Pretty Peacock, and petals in Purple Posy, Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray with some circle centres from Terracotta Tile. To make it easy to put them together I stuck them all to Adhesive sheet and then randomly constructed my flowers.

I've used a base of Thick Basic White and a top layer of Basic White which I embossed with the (sadly) soon to be retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I've layered the embossed piece onto a mat of Terracotta Tile and adhered it to the base card. Then I've popped all the flowers and leaves into place, it's a bit busy and not colours I'd usually use for flowers. 

Next I've added a greeting from Peaceful Moments in Pretty Peacock and diecut with another of the Pieced Blooms dies. A couple of flowers added to the corner and popped onto the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish I've popped a few of the clear Flowers for Every Season Gems into place.

The layers of flowers are balanced with the depth of the greeting:

Social Stamping - Brights!

The Social Stamping with Kelly Kent blog hop is back for 2021. Our theme this month is Brights! 

I can't wait to see everyone's take on this. I've known about the hop for so long and been tossing ideas around only to find myself making the card today. When will I learn?? There are so many ways to use the theme, but today I've gone with colouring and believe it or not I actually used every one of the Brights colours.

I've stamped the wild flower image from Dragonfly Garden onto Whisper White (because I still have some) using Granny Apple Green ink. Then I've used all but 3 of the colours in my Stampin' Markers for the flowers and leaves while not being too fussy so little bits of white still showed. I've added the greeting from A Touch of Ink in Pacific Point, then I've embossed this piece with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. This was matted onto Gorgeous Grape cardstock and attached to my base card of Thick Whisper White with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The dragonfly was stamped in Pacific Point ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the Dragonflies Punch. I've used my Wink of Stella pen and coloured the wings with Bermuda Bay ink and added it to the front using a Stampin' Dimensional.

Actually I CASEd myself for this card. I made the card below at a recent class and it was a favourite of a few attendees, it was so easy to create - stamps, ink and paper (maybe a punch to help out). A bit off topic as it was Very Vanilla card and Early Espresso ink.

Social Stamping - Merry & Bright

 

Joining the Social Stamping monthly blog hop with Kelly Kent and friends again with the theme this month of 'Merry & Bright'! 

I've been fortunate enough to get away this week to tutor cardmaking classes and today will share a couple of our makes, which I think fit the theme...

The card on the left is a CASE of my own card, which you can find here. This time I've used Real Red cardstock strips embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. These were added to a piece of retired DSP, onto a mat of Misty Moonlight cardstock then attached to the base of Thick Whisper White. The bow and greeting used the Gift Wrapped stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink onto Whisper White. The bow was then punched out with the Gift Bow Builder punch; the greeting had the left end punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch while being trimmed to hide behind the bow at the right hand end. This was added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. The bling was the Flowers for Every Season Gems. 

The card on the right was created with some Stamparatus assistance. I lined up the holly images from Joyful Holly, using the outline stamp with Shaded Spruce ink, and a stamped off image using the block fill image in Shaded Spruce again to colour the leaf. I've then lined up the little gnome from Gnome for the Holidays to hold the holly, using Black Memento ink, and Shaded Spruce for the greeting. The hat is Red Velvet paper using the paper piecing technique - and yes, the holly berries are in this red velvet paper as well. I gave the option to use a 1/8" punch to cut the velvet paper, or the easier option of Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Finished off by colouring using Stampin' Blends and adding to a mat of Real Red which was adhered to the base of Thick Whisper White card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Social Stamping - Get Better Soon

 

Joining the Social Stamping monthly blog hop with Kelly Kent and friends and our theme this month is 'Get Better Soon'! 

I've seen some fun cards recently using Stampin' Blends and Window Sheet (credit to Michelle Jutrisa). However, I've done things a little differently. Anybody else like me and still have a stash of Glossy cardstock? 

I added scribbles of Stampin' Blends onto Window Sheet and spritzed with isopropyl alcohol then turned the sheet over and pressed it onto the glossy card. I added colour as I saw fit and when it was a little wet from the alcohol you could smoosh it around and watch the image alter.I was rushing a little so decided to go with what I had, and because it came together so quickly, I've used them all. 

I set my Stamparatus up with an image and greeting from Dandelion Wishes. I love this set for resist embossing, but decided to have a change today. I've inked two with Bermuda Ink, the greeting didn't come out as well I'd like, but when I used Misty Moonlight for the other two, it must be that there wasn't quite enough ink as it really grabbed, although I think some of the little seeds may have not inked, but I was still happy with the result. I did have to set these aside while I made a cuppa just to make sure the ink had dried. I could have sped it up with the heat gun but didn't want to risk warping the lovely smooth card.

I've used mats of Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz and mounted all onto thick Whisper White card bases using Stampin' Dimensionals

The greeting is perfect to send someone who's feeling a bit under the weather, although it lends itself to a wider audience as well.

I've used three Stampin' Blends colours per card, although sometimes where the colour merged it looked like another colour had been brought in. I think I like this last one the most;

Social Stamping - Baby

 

Back for the Social Stamping monthly blog hop with Kelly Kent and friends and our theme this month is 'Baby'! I can't wait to see everyone's take on this theme, but I've gone with a traditional just for baby card. If you've just visited Denise, I want to thank her for lovely intro, so nice to know I've met her in person and appreciate the kind words x

I've diecut the words Welcome and Baby; and a tiny heart using the Well Written dies from Pool Party cardstock. I've used the Layering Circles to cut a circle of So Saffron cardstock for my balloon. 

The little animals from Special Someone have been stamped onto Whisper White cardstock using Smokey Slate for the outline and So Saffron for the body colour. I've made a mask from scrap paper and popped it over the raccoon before stamping the squirrel. Prior to adhering the balloon, I used Smokey Slate to stamp the string the raccoon is holding. I've also sponged around the edge of the balloon with Smokey Slate to give it a little depth with a little heavier colour on the left. After adhering the words I've added a bit of highlight to the right of the balloon using the Chalk Pen.

My top layer has been added to a mat of Pool Party and adhered to a thick Whisper White card base. The little heart is a gift from the little squirrel.

Social Stamping - Celebrate

Welcome back to the Social Stamping Blog Hop hosted by Kelly Kent. This month our theme is "Celebrate". We have plenty of reason to celebrate here as we farewell Winter and welcome Spring! Daffodils, blossom, new lambs and sunshine - long may it last.

I attended a Shoe Box swap today where our theme was to make a Masculine card. Because time management hasn't been my friend of late, I combined the two and this is what I came up with.

The other thing I did was choose items from my box of retired product. I've used Lucky Limeade for the base card with a panel of Wood Textures DSP. Before adhering the panel to the base, I white heat embossed a hot air balloon from Lift Me Up directly onto the wood texture panel. I've added adhesive sheet to the back of Whisper White cardstock and used my new Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine with the large hot air balloon from the Up & Away Thinlits dies. With one pass through the rollers all the intricate little shapes were nicely cut out and as the adhesive cover was removed it was easy to place the coloured panels on the reverse. I've used Tangerine Tango, Dapper Denim and Baked Brown Sugar.

This was stuck over the heat embossed balloon with Stampin' Dimensionals. Next a double layered greeting using the Celebrate You Thinllits dies with Whisper White on the top to keep with the colour theme and either Dapper Denim or Tangerine Tango for the shadow.

Social Stamping - Sympathy

Welcome back to the Social Stamping Blog Hop hosted by Kelly Kent. The hop has moved away from the original Covid 19 theme to a more social monthly version. Going forward you can catch Kelly and friends as they hop at the end of every month.

Our July theme is Sympathy. A card we all find hard to make, write in and send! It means someone we know or love is suffering a loss. Hopefully the hop today will help inspire you the next time you find the need to make that 'hard' card for someone in your life to let them know you feel for them and their loss.

I've tried my hand at a Triple Fold Accordian Card. I saw one online and honestly couldn't remember who had made - or find it again. However when I googled, I was inspired by the version Frenchie Stamps had made and I've tweaked it for our metric cardstock.

I've used the retired Magnolia Lane DSP and cut it at 5 11/16" to fit the 1/4 sheet of Basic Black cardstock used for the back. The score lines are 2", 5" and 8".

I've used the Good Morning Magnolia greeting and Memento Black ink then diecut with the (retired) Stitched Labels Dies. 

For the inside message, I used the Peaceful Moments greeting and punched it out with the Everyday Label punch. I've adhered the label so it didn't show under the front greeting. The last panel is plain Whisper White where I can write a greeting, I felt leaving it plain fitted the occasion although the original was stamped and looked great.

The next card is virtually the same, just stepped up a little using Heat Embossing for the greetings. The front greeting is Basic Black embossing powder.

Both cards were finished with a fussy cut flower from another sheet of this gorgeous DSP. I love how this style of card shows so much of the DSP and both sides! Wish it had stayed around a bit longer.

The next greeting is on a Stitched Shapes diecut from Mossy Meadow cardstock as there was a lot of white in the background and I didn't want to lose the greeting. This was heat embossed with White embossing powder.

Social Stamping - Change

The theme is Change for Kelly Kent's final Social Stamping Covid Blog Hop. There is no doubt Covid 19 has certainly brought Change to many of our lives. It is also what allows us to grow as we learn new things, alter our mindsets, adapt to new processes etc. 

With that in mind, the card I have chosen to create today is a bit random as I told myself to make a card with a difference - something I hadn't done before, and with the limited tools I had taken to a crop day. Yes, we are lucky to be safely able to return to having our regular crafting sessions in NZ. Today's group was a monthly crop which I'm not always able to attend, but really enjoy catching up with the ladies when I get the chance. 

I have used a base of Smokey Slate. For the top layer, I've used a piece of Whisper White cardstock and the group of mini triangles from the Stitched Triangles dies, then just placed it in different positions to make the cut outs. This was adhered to a mat of Night of Navy and attached to the base card. I've used a scrap of gold from the centre of a wreath from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper and diecut using the same dies, inserting the gold into a few of the blank spaces. 

I also broke out the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch I didn't think I needed but have since realised now versatile it is! (I don't think I'm alone lol). The greeting is from Under My Umbrella in Basic Gray ink on a 1/2" strip of Whisper White, with the background mat of Night of Navy being 3/4" wide. This card could definitely be stepped up, but it fit the brief - and is a bit of a change from my usual creations.

Although this is the final Covid blog hop, Kelly has decided to evolve towards a monthly social hop and will continue on the last Saturday of the month going forward.
