#CTC313 Favourite Retiring Stamp Set

CASE your favourite Retiring Annual Catalogue Stamp set:

I've actually used the Under My Umbrella stamp set and closely CASEd the card 2nd from the left in the bottom of the photo above.

Onto a card base of Pool Party, I've stamped the rain drops in Pool Party ink. Using Night of Navy ink, I've stamped the umbrella onto a scrap of In Good Taste DSP and punched it with the Umbrella Builder punch. Using the same ink I've stamped the handle onto Whisper White cardstock and again punched with the Umbrella Builder punch. With the same ink and Whisper White scraps, I've added the greeting (although I had to use a slightly larger circle as I wanted different wording) and diecut it from the sadly retiring Stitched Shapes dies; then stamped the flowers and coloured them with Stampin' Blends before fussy cutting.

Using the Stitched Shapes dies and a piece of Bermuda Bay (retired) Oh So Ombre DSP, I've cut two different size squares and embossed them with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

I've layered the picture and sentiment onto the staggered squares and attached them all together with multi purpose adhesive. Next some white Crinkled Seam Binding was attached to the back of the squares and some Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the panel to the card. I had recently been playing with the retired For the Love of Felt Project Kit and found some Pool Party sequins which were the perfect addition to this card.

At least the DSP and cardstock will be carrying over.

We hope you will join us in CASEing your favourite stamp set from the annual catalogue and post your project to our Facebook page using the link over on the right.

Next up please visit Tina and her gorgeous card using another lovely stamp set we are to farewell:

#CTC291 CASE a Project from pgs 71-75 Aug-Dec Catalogue

We have a few to choose from:

I've chosen the picture top right of pg 75:

Funnily, I've accidentally repeated my colour palette from a a couple of weeks back. I think it is because I love this DSP!!

I've started with a base of thick Whisper White cardstock and added a same size sheet of Peony Garden DSP.

Onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I've stamped some critters from Someone Special in Gray Granite ink, and filled the image with Petal Pink ink.. I've added a piece of Peony Garden DSP stamped with the umbrella image and punched using the Umbrella Builder Punch. The greeting is also from Under My Umbrella using Gray Granite ink.

I've cut the whole piece out using the Rectangle Stitched Dies, with a matching size cut from Petal Pink cardstock. A smaller die was used to cut a tiny rectangle which was folded to use for the tab top. I've punched a whole and threaded some Petal Pink Organdy Ribbon and tied it with Linen Thread.

Thanks for stopping past. Please continue onto Shannon's fabulous creation:

Social Stamping - Change

The theme is Change for Kelly Kent's final Social Stamping Covid Blog Hop. There is no doubt Covid 19 has certainly brought Change to many of our lives. It is also what allows us to grow as we learn new things, alter our mindsets, adapt to new processes etc.

With that in mind, the card I have chosen to create today is a bit random as I told myself to make a card with a difference - something I hadn't done before, and with the limited tools I had taken to a crop day. Yes, we are lucky to be safely able to return to having our regular crafting sessions in NZ. Today's group was a monthly crop which I'm not always able to attend, but really enjoy catching up with the ladies when I get the chance.

I have used a base of Smokey Slate. For the top layer, I've used a piece of Whisper White cardstock and the group of mini triangles from the Stitched Triangles dies, then just placed it in different positions to make the cut outs. This was adhered to a mat of Night of Navy and attached to the base card. I've used a scrap of gold from the centre of a wreath from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper and diecut using the same dies, inserting the gold into a few of the blank spaces.

I also broke out the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch I didn't think I needed but have since realised now versatile it is! (I don't think I'm alone lol). The greeting is from Under My Umbrella in Basic Gray ink on a 1/2" strip of Whisper White, with the background mat of Night of Navy being 3/4" wide. This card could definitely be stepped up, but it fit the brief - and is a bit of a change from my usual creations.

Although this is the final Covid blog hop, Kelly has decided to evolve towards a monthly social hop and will continue on the last Saturday of the month going forward.

Until then, please enjoy the rest of this hop by visiting Andrea:

Social Stamping - New (Normal)

This week Kelly Kent's theme for the Social Stamping Covid Blog Hop is "New (Normal)". What has become your New Normal?

For me, life has been pretty quiet. We are fortunate in New Zealand to be looking at moving to Level 1 soon, and one of our bubble will return to University, a five hour drive away from us. It has been lovely to have her home through lockdown though..

We've been lucky to have experienced a mild autumn and able to get outdoors for walks. The neighbourhood put teddies in the window for people to look out for and that went down a treat - not just with the kids! Did they do that where you live too?

My creation is based on the leaves we've watched falling on our walks. And not even funny - within 24 hrs of creating my card - we have had the coldest day in a very long time - along with the rain, so I just might have tempted fate when I added my umbrella and gumboots!!

I've used the rose leaf stamp from Rooted in Nature and Very Vanilla cardstock. My ink pads were Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso to stamp the leaves, I started with the lightest colour and stamped off a little as I went, then progressed to darker. I've added a greeting from Under My Umbrella in Early Espresso ink along with the umbrella handle. My 'new' for the theme is the In Colour 6" x 6" DSP - in Bumblebee! I've stamped the umbrella and boots in Early Espresso and fussy cut, popping them in place with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I've used some retired Old Olive Linen Thread to wrap around the card and matted the top layer with Early Espresso, adding it to a base of thick Whisper White cut in half lengthwise, so it forms a tent when folded. Lastly I tied a bow around the thread.

I wish I had some polka dot gumboots like these - alas I'm stuck with my trusty black 'Perths'! How appropriate for the social stamping Kelly and our Western Australia friends? - along with the greeting!!

Thanks for stopping by! Stay safe and please continue on the hop to my fellow CASEing the Catty friend, Shannon:
