#CTC380 CASE a Christmas Tree Project

CASE a Christmas Tree Project

I've chosen this card above to the left on Page 13 of the July-December mini catalogue and pretty much CASEd it as it appeared.

Using the Spruced Up Outlines Dies, I've die cut small trees in Evening Evergreen, Garden Green and Granny Apple Green.

Onto a base of Evening Evergreen, I've attached a layer of Pretty Prints DSP. Over that I've popped a piece of Vellum Layering Designs by just attaching adhesive to the centre of the vellum so it won't be seen. The edges of the vellum float a little bit and appear wonky in the photo because it's only grounded in the middle.

Next I've adhered the trees and outlines in place. The greeting is from Christmas Scottie, stamped in Evening Evergreen onto Basic White and diecut with a hexagon from the Beautiful Shapes Dies then added to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. The card was finished with a few (retired) Flowers for Every Season Gems.

I chose not to use the stamps on the trees as in the original. Another option which would have made this fun, would have been to use an embossing folder on the solid trees as I did the last time I used the Spruced Up Outlines Dies.

The crew would love to see you play along by CASEing a Christmas Tree Project and adding your photo to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening. There's a link over on the right if you need it.

Next up we have our lovely friend Tina and her fabulous baubles card:

  1. Totally love love love the printed vellum under the trees - this is a great card!

  2. Oooh, I love this version of the card. The choice of pink for the background really makes the trees pop. Love it!

  3. Those trees of yours make a very bold statement Sandra, lovely.

  4. I love how versatile these tree dies are, I wouldn't have thought to emboss them! I love your choice of the three greens and the use of that vellum ... I had forgotten that I have some in my stash and your card was just the reminder I needed.

I love how changing the background colour really changes the look of the card. The trees look great.
