#CTC185 - Best Route

We're CASEing from pages 52-65 this week!

For me it was page 52 itself - did you notice these folders on the right hand side of the large picture?

That was my inspiration!. Even though I don't (yet!) own this set of DSP (Designer Series Paper), I liked the combination of the Blueberry Bushel and Mango Melody and created my own.  I've also chosen to CASE the layout of two of the folders as well. Both cards have Crumb Cake cardstock for the base.

The left sample has a Blueberry Bushel banner embossed with Layered Leaves 3D TIEF and the top strip was the DSP I created using strips of Mango Melody cardstock attached to Whisper White and then lines were drawn by hand with a black marker pen. A silver foil plate made using the Layering Squares framelits was popped over the bird image and greeting from Hedgehugs.

The right hand card has a banner of  DSP created using Handwritten stamped in Blueberry Bushel with the mushroom image from Hedgehugs randomly stamped in Mango Melody. The Blueberry Bushel strip was added after having a Hedgehugs flower image self stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink, then Hedgehugs again provided a greeting and image which was placed under another silver foil plate. Relatively quick and easy, but more so if you actually have the DSP! Check with your Demonstrator about the special "Buy 3 Get 1 free" offer for July!

Feel free to join us and make a card then post using the link over on the right.  Meantime, please pop in and see what our lovely friend Angela has lined up for us this week...

Kelly's Stamping Friends Birthday Blog Hop

Happy Birthday to the amazing and inspiring Kelly Kent from Western Australia! What a fabulous way to celebrate a birthday - with a global blog hop (actually this is the first of two hops) with friends of Kelly who share the mutual interest of papercraft and/or Stampin' Up!.  Hope you have plenty of reasons to smile today Kelly - hugs and best wishes xx

This is the birthday card I created for the occasion:

Unfortunately the lovely Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP will not be available for much longer, but it suited what I was looking for, bright, vibrant and fun! The greeting (Label Me Pretty) is not retiring as I thought it was, (I must have been looking at the bundle which of course, will retire as a bundle but the separate items are still available - thanks Tina for the correction). and it worked well with my DSP. I inked it in Old Olive and coloured with Stampin' Blends then punched with the Pretty Label punch and adhered it over Silver Foil rose embossed leaves, (a sneak peek of a new set with co-ordinating dies), and an Old Olive Petals and More Thinlit diecut.

I couldn't resist thinking of the two lovely young ladies in the Kent house, surely they are critter lovers so there are some fun aspects for them to enjoy inside - with credit to  the Hedgehugs stamp set. First up, a little Rich Razzleberry hedgehog masked off to look like she's standing on the tree stump.

And next the bird and branch are direct to stamp colouring with Stampin' markers. The greeting also in Rich Razzleberry; "Today is special - just like You!", how appropriate.

This is known as a Four Fold card. I know you will find a lot of tutorials online if you are looking to create something like this. I taught this to a group of ladies late last year, and when researching a pattern, the versions I saw weren't quite what I was after, so I adapted my card to get two from one sheet of 12x12, plus an A5 sheet of card to provide the add on pieces for the front.

I actually made two of these cards, and the other was turned into a special Mother's Day card for my lovely Mum xx.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC167 Sale-a-bration

Here we are again returning to the Sale-a-bration catalogues for inspiration. Welcome if you have just arrived from visiting the lovely Angela. Hope you are feeling the need to join us with your creation this week - follow the link up on the right.

I've chosen the image on the bottom right of page 16 of the initial catalogue.

As you can see, I've changed a few things and adapted another couple. I've kept the idea of Gold embossing on Crumb Cake and switched it to a card using the Hedgehugs set. The base card is Calypso Coral to match the die cut 'Celebrate' (Celebrate You Thinlits) and the Ombre ribbon. The scallop circle element on my card is diecut from Layering Circles Framelits and Whisper White card. The banner is vellum, banner punched at each end. I like that it shows off the ribbon in a subtle way. The foliage is from Petals & More Thinlits.

Thanks for stopping by, and now time to go check what Monique has to show you:
