#CTC390 CASE the Colours of Santa Express DSP

CASE the Colours of Santa Express DSP: Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green, Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron

After choosing a base card of Thick Basic White, I've taken my Geraniums Dies and cut the leaves from Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce, and the flowers from Poppy Parade and Petal Pink.

I swiped my Hive 3D Embossing Folder with Mint Macaron ink and popped a piece of Basic white cardstock inside then ran it through my Cut & Emboss machine. After it dried I trimmed it to fit and matted with Evening Evergreen cardstock.

Next I've heat embossed the greeting from Potted Greraniums onto Evening Evergreen cardstock with White Embossing Powder and diecut with another of the Geraniums Dies. All the pieces were then adhered to the base card.

I actually had the flower colours reversed for my completed card and switched them out after completion. Was a bit too soft on top, and the base of Poppy Parade gave a bit more strength and balance to the bold greens.

I love the variety we see when we have a colour challenge. That means I really want to see your card included in the challenge. Join the group, create your card and post it to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next on the hop we have our friend Monique:

#CTC366 Farewell Annual Catalogue

Our last week to Farewell the Annual Catalogue:

Lest We Forget! ANZAC Day tomorrow was the inspiration for my card and I turned to the Painted Poppies for some ideas. Page 25 and the tag top left:

I started by making a tag with Real Red cardstock and punched the top with the (retired) Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Using Memento Black ink I've stamped the tall poppy from Painted Poppies a few times. I then threaded two pieces of Crinkled Whisper White Seam Binding and tied it off with another piece. The Basic White layer has been Clear heat embossed with the open poppy from Painted Poppies. I added this panel to a Real Red mat and attached to a base card of Basic Black.

I've attached the tag with Stampin' Dimensionals and added some Polished Dots. The greeting is diecut in Basic Black and Basic White using the Amazing Thanks Dies and adhered to the tag..

Red, Black and White are always a winning colour combination. So pleased to see the Painted Poppies will reappear in the new catalogue.

Sorry you have to look close to see the clear embossing but I like the subtleness.

We hope you can join us this week as we Farewell the Annual Catalogue. Pop a photo of your creation on our Facebook page using the link over on the right.

Next on the hop we have Michelle and her stunning masculine card using products I am sad to see go:

#CTC356 CASE Heart & Home Colours

CASE the Colours of the Heart & Home DSP on page 59 of the Mini Catalogue; Pale Papaya, Garden Green, Misty Moonlight, Fresh Freesia, Cinnamon Cider and Basic Gray. You can use as many or as few of the colours as you choose.

It's been raining quite heavy for the last 24 hours so a perfect day to craft. I decided I would do some colouring with the challenge this week and have used all the colours mentioned above.

My go to when I don't have a project in mind is to pick up the catalogue and flick through to see what I have and whether it might work. This had me landing on the Free As a Bird stamp set on Page 83 and felt guilty at it not having been inked in some time.

I used Shimmery White cardstock and Basic Gray ink. Because I was going to use my Water Painters, I have immediately covered the image with Clear Embossing Powder to adhere to the wet ink and then heat set it. This is because Basic Gray water based ink will often bleed as an outline so I wanted to be able to colour without having to worry about that. Cinnamon Cidcr branch, Garden Green leaves, Fresh Freesia flowers The birds were sort of outlined/shaded in Misty Moonlight and then I added a wash of Pale Papaya over the front of them. The beaks were a stronger colour of Pale Papaya.

I've stamped a greeting from the same Free As a Bird stamp set in Basic Gray ink and adhered this panel to a mat of Misty Moonlight.

My card base is Fresh Freesia and the full front panel was embossed with Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder then added to the base with the coloured panel added on top.

Always hard to capture sparkle on a card but a different angle may give it to you when blown up

We look forward to seeing you play along this week. Post your project to our Facebook page using the link over on the right.

Next up we have our Queensland friend Rebecca:

#CTC355 CASE Sale-a-bration

Yes, we are back CASEing the Sale-a-bration catalogue this week:

I've turned to Page 10 and the picture top right.

Tuesday sees us celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary so I thought I'd use this challenge to make hubby a card - killing two birds with one stone, so to speak!!

I've used the same DSP as the CASE card - Simply Marbleous and the same colour of Basic Gray. I've used the Birds & More dies to cut my circle shape and behind it I've added a panel of Basic White which was embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder.

Again using Birds & More dies, I've cut two little birds in Silver Foil and then using scraps of Daffodil Delight and Real Red another two were cut. I've taken the little cut outs from the colour birds and added them to the silver birds then adhered them in place on the circle frame.

My greeting is from Pansy Patch heat embossed in Silver Embossing Powder onto a strip of Basic Black cardstock. Underneath a little red heart from the same set of dies out of Real Red cardstock.

I love the bold colours on one side of the Simply Marbleous while the other is quite the opposite, very soft so something to appeal to everyone.

Wonder which card you might like to CASE and whether you will change things out or keep it as it is. Remember you don't have to have new products to play along, we just love to see how your creativity puts a twist to the catalogue pictures. Use the link over on the right and add your picture to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening.

Next up we have Kathryn to share some of her fabulous scrapbooking pages from her recent 'big' birthday. Special memories Kathryn!

#CTC344 CASE an Embossing Project

CASE an Embossing Project - you choose, heat embossed, dry embossed....

I've turned to Page 54 of the July-December Mini Catalogue and the card on the bottom right:

I've started with a piece of Basic White cardstock which I white heat embossed twice with the image from Quiet Meadow. I've then used the resist ink technique with Pool Party ink and a blending brush. Next I've dry embossed this with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing folder.

I've added a couple of strips of Pattern Party DSP. Onto this a diecut from Meadow Dies of foliage in Mango Melody was added, as it toned with my choice of DSP and added colour without the fussiness of the original card. My greeting is stamped in Basic Gray ink from Turtle Friends onto a strip of Basic White and adhered in place.

The whole layer was added to a base of Basic Gray cardstock and finished with a few Metallic Pearls.

My embossing doesn't stand out as much as the original but it works for what I was after. Not sure if that was my colour sponging choice or the image I used was a little finer than the one they used to emboss.

We hope to see you play along CASEing an Embossing project this week. Just post your project to our Facebook page using the link over on the right. You have to join the page first and answer a couple of simple questions.

I can't wait to see what Rachel has to share with us this week:

CTC338 - CASE Sketch on Pg 34 of Mini

This sketch on Page 34 of the August - December Mini Catalogue:

In a simple format:
I've used a base of Thick Basic White cut lengthwise and folded in half for my base.

Next I've worked out my top layer also in Basic White. I've diecut a panel of little flowers using the Hydrangea Dies. I've heat embossed a hydrangea flower from Hydrangea Haven and a greeting from Peaceful Moments with gold embossing powder onto Basic White cardstock. The flower was diecut with the Hydrangea Dies and the greeting was trimmed to be a strip to fit.

My mat is Evening Evergreen and I've snuck a diecut from the Layering Circles to mat my feature diecut onto. I've cut Gold strips from the Gold & Rose Metallic Specialty Paper to add accent from my perception of the CASE card.

I've added a few of the diecut tiny white flowers and popped a Gold Metallic Pearl in the centre. I've added a piece of Baker's Twine tied in a bow around the centre of the card, focusing the bow to the front. Happily sending this off to my Aunty and Uncle to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Can't wait to see your take of the sketch. Pop your photo up on our Facebook page using the link over on the right.

Next on the hop we have Monique!

#CTC336 Sale-a-bration

Back CASEing the Sale-a-bration catalogue:

The card at the bottom of Page 12 won this time around for me:

I started by setting up my Stamparatus with the splotch stamp from Hydrangea Haven and a piece of Basic White cardstock. I've inked, cleaned, hinge stamped and repeated with each colour I used - starting at the top, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce and Balmy Blue. Next I've used a Soft Suede Stampin' Marker and flicked the tip against the lid to create some speckles all over.

I've gold heat embossed the flower from Quiet Meadow onto Vellum and fussy cut each one, then attached it to the coloured layer with glue dots. I've trimmed a piece of Basic Black cardstock and added the diecut greeting in Basic White from Birthday Chick. I popped Stampin' Dimensionals on the back and attached to a base of Thick Basic White cardstock.

Maybe this angle will show the speckles and embossing better:

Surprise, surprise I even managed to get this card in the post this week - unlike the many cards still waiting in my stash!

We would love to see what you create using the Sale-a-bration catalogue as your inspiration. If you play along you can use the link over on the right to post your photo to our Facebook page - please do so before next Sunday evening. Less than a fortnight left to earn your Sale-a-bration freebies!

Next up we have our friend Rachel and I can't wait to see her creation!

#CTC283 CASE the Colours of Trimming the Tree DSP

We are CASEing the colours of Trimming the Tree DSP this week - Early Espresso, Misty Moonlight, Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Whisper White

I've used all the colours, but also CASEd the card on the top right of page 12:

I've used a base of thick Whisper White and added a mat of Poppy Parade. I've stamped the holly image from Gift Wrapped in Pool Party ink onto a top layer of Pool Party cardstock. I've trimmed Misty Moonlight cardstock into inch wide stripes and embossed them with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder and adhered them to the card. Next I've used Bird & More dies to cut some foliage from Old Olive and added it to the embossed panel.

I've Clear Embossed the bow image by stamping onto Versamark and then into Poppy Parade ink before stamping on Whisper White cardstock, covering the image with Clear Embossing powder and heat setting. I liked the effect so did the same with the greeting from the same set using the Versamark then Early Espresso and clear embossing. The bow has been punched out with the Gift Bow Builder punch and the greeting with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch before adding them both to the card. I've used the clear Flowers for All Seasons gems to finish but in a different way than the CASEd card.

This angle may show the detail better:

You have until next Sunday evening to make a card using any or all of the colours above then adding your photo to our Facebook page using the link over to the right. Meanwhile please carry on the hop to visit Rebecca and her lovely floral card:

#CTC206 - Case a Holiday Catalogue Colour Combo

Bit of a change this week and we are CASEing a Colour Combo from anywhere in the Holiday catalogue:

I've chosen from the All is Bright Suite of colours on pages 4-8:

Actually I have to confess, this was my go to colour choice after becoming a little time poor. I took part in an ATC swap recently and the colours were this brief as well.  I've pretty much 'up-sized' my original. The colours are Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White and Gold foil.

The base is Real Red, with a sheet of Whisper White embossed with Tufted 3D TIEF. I have cut Gold Foil and Real Red accents with the Foliage Frame Framelits. The Shaded Spruce was diecut from the same Framelits and placed over the longer gold leaves with the remaining leaves then being adhered. The top layer was of Whisper White was Gold heat embossed with an image from Making Christmas Bright and die cut with the Layered Circles framelits. The image from Half Full is stamped in Real Red and attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.

From a different angle:

And the original ATC:

Love to see your take of a colour combo from the holiday catalogue, create a card and add the photo to our Facebook page with the link over on the right.  Let's now check out what Judy has for us:
