#CTC390 CASE the Colours of Santa Express DSP

CASE the Colours of Santa Express DSP: Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green, Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron

After choosing a base card of Thick Basic White, I've taken my Geraniums Dies and cut the leaves from Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce, and the flowers from Poppy Parade and Petal Pink.

I swiped my Hive 3D Embossing Folder with Mint Macaron ink and popped a piece of Basic white cardstock inside then ran it through my Cut & Emboss machine. After it dried I trimmed it to fit and matted with Evening Evergreen cardstock.

Next I've heat embossed the greeting from Potted Greraniums onto Evening Evergreen cardstock with White Embossing Powder and diecut with another of the Geraniums Dies. All the pieces were then adhered to the base card.

I actually had the flower colours reversed for my completed card and switched them out after completion. Was a bit too soft on top, and the base of Poppy Parade gave a bit more strength and balance to the bold greens.

I love the variety we see when we have a colour challenge. That means I really want to see your card included in the challenge. Join the group, create your card and post it to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next on the hop we have our friend Monique:

#CTC386 CASE Mini Catalogue Sketch

CASE the Mini Catalogue Sketch on Page 30

My card is a real example of Simple Stamping today. Stamps, ink and paper. You could even get away with no stamping - all you need is He's The Man Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Onto a base of Mint Macaron cardstock, I've background stamped the speckled image from Quiet Meadow inked in Early Espresso ink.

My panel and other elements are from a sheet of He's The Man Specialty Designer Series Paper which has already been diecut - you only have to pop the image out of the sheet. I've backed the main panel with Cajun Craze cardstock and to take the sharp corners off, I've used the panel as a template and just trimmed each of the cardstock corners, then adhered the panel to the mat.

I've embossed a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. It has actually been double embossed as I wasn't sure I liked the original so I popped it back in the folder and embossed it the other direction. The result also gave a softer finish as the fibers were broken down and it feels like a thick ribbon. This was glued behind the greeting and all the elements were adhered to the main panel.

The panel has been attached to the base card at a slight angle using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Might be useful for a certain male in the house celebrating his birthday this month... sssh!

We would love to see your version of the sketch this week. Just add your project to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next on the hop we have our fabulous friend Julia and her stunning Christmas card:
