#CTC302 CASE a Floral Project

CASE a Floral Project from either the Mini catalogue or Sale-a-bration catalogue:

Funny enough, I've gone back to the same page as I used last week - pg 11 of the Sale-a-bration catalogue and the card on the bottom right::

I've used a base of thick Whisper White and added a panel of Hydrangea Hill DSP - the colours in this are just lovely. I've cut a one inch strip from the same DSP in a different pattern and punched the ends with Lovely Labels Pick a Punch before adhering it to the panel. Next I've stamped the greeting from Happy Thoughts using Mossy Meadow ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trimmed it and added it to the banner.

The flower images are from Hydrangea Haven and were stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink onto Purple Posy cardstock and coloured in with Highland Heather Stampin' Blends. The leaves were Mossy Meadow ink onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock and coloured with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. These were cut using the Hydrangea Dies along with some of the petals from Purple Posy cardstock. I popped a bit of colour in the centre of the petals using the Highland Heather Dark Stampin' Blend.

To finish I've added a tiny double bow from Old Olive Linen Thread. To make it this small I used a fork and was happy with it not being too overpowering against the lovely font in the greeting.

The crew would love to see your CASE of a Floral Project, please add it to our Facebook page using the link over on the right and #CTC302 before next Sunday evening.

Next up please hop over and see what Monique has for us this week:

#CTC301 CASE a Sale-a-bration Project

CASE any project from the Sale-a-bration catalogue

I've chosen the image in the middle of Page 11:

Onto a base of Soft Sea Foam, I've attached a panel of In Good Taste DSP. Next I've fussy cut flowers from a sheet of Paper Blooms DSP and adhered them randomly leaving a gap for my greeting.

I've stamped a greeting from Lovely You in Night of Navy onto Whisper White cardstock using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to get the right size and matted it using Night of Navy and the same punch. To finish I've added some of the green Flowers for Every Season Gems.

This was an easily replicated card and while I still had spare fussy cutting on my workspace, I decided to make another card. This time I chose one big flower and adhered the stem to the greeting and trimmed off so no white showed on the left of the stem. I've added mini Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the flower and greeting and stuck it onto the panel The clear Flowers for Every Season Gems were the finishing touch ... just because!

The crew would love to see you play along, use the link over on the right to add your picture to our Facebook Challenge page before next Sunday evening.

Next up, please hop over to our friend Julia and see what she has to share this week:

Social Stamping - Merry & Bright

Joining the Social Stamping monthly blog hop with Kelly Kent and friends again with the theme this month of 'Merry & Bright'!

I've been fortunate enough to get away this week to tutor cardmaking classes and today will share a couple of our makes, which I think fit the theme...

The card on the left is a CASE of my own card, which you can find here. This time I've used Real Red cardstock strips embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. These were added to a piece of retired DSP, onto a mat of Misty Moonlight cardstock then attached to the base of Thick Whisper White. The bow and greeting used the Gift Wrapped stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink onto Whisper White. The bow was then punched out with the Gift Bow Builder punch; the greeting had the left end punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch while being trimmed to hide behind the bow at the right hand end. This was added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. The bling was the Flowers for Every Season Gems.

The card on the right was created with some Stamparatus assistance. I lined up the holly images from Joyful Holly, using the outline stamp with Shaded Spruce ink, and a stamped off image using the block fill image in Shaded Spruce again to colour the leaf. I've then lined up the little gnome from Gnome for the Holidays to hold the holly, using Black Memento ink, and Shaded Spruce for the greeting. The hat is Red Velvet paper using the paper piecing technique - and yes, the holly berries are in this red velvet paper as well. I gave the option to use a 1/8" punch to cut the velvet paper, or the easier option of Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Finished off by colouring using Stampin' Blends and adding to a mat of Real Red which was adhered to the base of Thick Whisper White card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Next up, we look forward to seeing what Jan has created for the hop:

#CTC290 CASE the Colours of Plaid Tidings DSP

CASE the Colours of Plaid Tidings DSP: Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo, Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Seaside Spray, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White - that's a lot of colour, but don't worry, you don’t have to use them all!

I've managed to use nine I think. I've diecut using the Well Written Dies, Shaded Spruce leaves, Melon Mambo and Blackberry Bliss flowers, Bumblebee & Pumpkin Pie butterflies and a Misty Moonlight bird. Behind each flower is a tiny square of Bumblebee cardstock. And for the butterflies I've swapped the negative pieces. I've adhered them all to a top layer of Crumb Cake which was embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder and matted onto Whisper White cardstock.

I've used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach this layer to my base card of Mango Melody. The greeting is from Peaceful Moments using Blackberry Bliss ink onto Bumblebee cardstock and punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. To help it to pop a little I've used the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch and Whisper White cardstock to pop behind my greeting then adhered it to the top layer. I've added some of the Flowers for Every Season gems and finished by splashing around some Wink of Stella.

As you can see, what I should have been doing was mowing the lawns, but they'll still be there tomorrow! Here's the Wink of Stella picture:

There's such a range of colours to pick from this week, hopefully you'll be inspired to play along. Make your card and post the picture to our Facebook page by next Sunday evening using the link over on the right.

#CTC289 CASE a Halloween Project

CASE a Halloween Project:

I've used the tag on the far right page 65 of the Aug-Dec Mini Catalogue:

I've used a base of Gray Granite cardstock and my tag is cut from Peony Garden DSP. I've cut 3/4" strips of Petal Pink cardstock and used the Banner Triple punch to cut the end, then used that as a pattern to chop the other end, then I've embossed them all with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder and adhered them haphazardly onto the tag.

The greeting is from Zany Zebras in Gray Granite ink onto the same colour cardstock. I've used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to cut it, then repeated with a mat of Whisper White and another of Gray Granite. My bow is the lovely Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon popped on with a Glue Dot. I've finished with butterflies in Gray Granite cardstock using the Butterfly Beauty Dies - much prettier than bats!

Next on the hop we have Monique and she has a super project to share:

#CTC285 CASE the Layout on Page 29 Mini

The crew are CASEing the layout on page 29 of the August-December Catalogue:

This is the sketch if you can't cope with a photo:

I looked at the picture and saw black and white as the central image, with strips of cardstock (or similar) behind. I also rotated the image to fit the picture that jumped to mind.

I've started with a base card of Petal Pink cardstock and used 3/4" strips of Soft Sea Foam, Feels Like Frost Specialty DSP, Whisper White and Mossy Meadow. The Feels Like Frost has a piece using both sides for variety. As you know I've enjoyed using my new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and have taken advantage of that shape for each end of all of my strips. The Whisper White was stamped with a Lovely You greeting in Memento black before being popped into place.

My main image is the Good Morning Magnolia flower coloured very lightly with Stampin' Blends so as not to detract from the Black and White image that I was drawn to. After colouring it was added using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The crew would love to see you play along using the link over on the right. Next up we have Lauren:

#CTC284 CASE from Annual Catalogue Die Bundle Section

CASE from the Die Bundle Section of the Annual Catalogue - pages 173-179

The card on the bottom on the picture was my inspiration using the Blossoms in Bloom bundle!
I thought the colours looked amazing together and just changed them around a little bit.

I was also recently inspired by a fellow Demonstrator, Tracy Held from Australia, who showed us her version of the split card technique - I'd seen it before but never given it a go. Tracy made me feel a little more confident and so I wish to give her some credit as I just went from her video and didn't look up anyone else. Thanks Tracy!

I've started by applying adhesive sheet to the back of a piece of Whisper White cardstock and diecut with the Many Layered Blossoms top layer die and my Stampin' Cut & Emboss - seriously still impressed that one pass cuts all the fiddly bits out! Next I stamped the Blossoms in Bloom large flower in Basic Gray ink onto Smokey Slate cardstock. The cardstock is twice the size of my normal top layer at this stage. I've removed the adhesive cover from the diecut and placed it over the stamped image. I've then used my guillotine to chop the cardstock in half - making two card fronts from one image!

I chose to rotate one of them so that my cards both placed the image on the left. I've used So Saffron cardstock to cut some of the smaller flowers with the Many Layered Blossoms die bottom layer, and then Blackberry Bliss for the matching shape in the top layer. I've attached the flowers to the card top using a glue dot.

I've used Versamark then Blackberry Bliss ink and covered with Clear Embossing powder before heat setting  the greetings from Blossoms in Bloom. They were punched out using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch according to their height and added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Each has a mat of Blackberry Bliss and a base of Thick Whisper White cardstock.

The crew would love to see you play along. Once you've joined the Facebook Challenge page - CASE a card, take a photo and post it using the link over on the right. Next up we have our lovely leader, Rebecca

#CTC283 CASE the Colours of Trimming the Tree DSP

We are CASEing the colours of Trimming the Tree DSP this week - Early Espresso, Misty Moonlight, Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Whisper White

I've used all the colours, but also CASEd the card on the top right of page 12:

I've used a base of thick Whisper White and added a mat of Poppy Parade. I've stamped the holly image from Gift Wrapped in Pool Party ink onto a top layer of Pool Party cardstock. I've trimmed Misty Moonlight cardstock into inch wide stripes and embossed them with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder and adhered them to the card. Next I've used Bird & More dies to cut some foliage from Old Olive and added it to the embossed panel.

I've Clear Embossed the bow image by stamping onto Versamark and then into Poppy Parade ink before stamping on Whisper White cardstock, covering the image with Clear Embossing powder and heat setting. I liked the effect so did the same with the greeting from the same set using the Versamark then Early Espresso and clear embossing. The bow has been punched out with the Gift Bow Builder punch and the greeting with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch before adding them both to the card. I've used the clear Flowers for All Seasons gems to finish but in a different way than the CASEd card.

This angle may show the detail better:

You have until next Sunday evening to make a card using any or all of the colours above then adding your photo to our Facebook page using the link over to the right. Meanwhile please carry on the hop to visit Rebecca and her lovely floral card:

#CTC282 CASE your Favourite Mini Catalogue Bundle

The bundles can be found throughout the catalogue with a summary on pages 71-75.

I've chosen to loosely adapt a card using the Have a Hoot bundle on Page 62:

I've used a base of thick Whisper White cardstock. I've stamped the Have a Hoot family on the branch using Early Espresso ink onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock. Because we are a family of three, I've masked off the littlest owl in the picture. I've coloured the image with Stampin' Blends. My branch needed extending to meet the frame and I used an Early Espresso marker to do so.

I've cut a piece of the returning fave, Feels Like Frost Specialty DSP the same size as the card front and cut a window using the Tasteful Labels dies. I chose this DSP because the colours in it are more like we will be experiencing at Christmas time - bright and summery (we hope!). I've adhered the layers in place and added a greeting from Have a Hoot stamped in Early Espresso onto Whisper White cardstock and trimmed using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

I've finished off with a few of the Flowers for Every Season Gems. The greeting on the inside is from the same set - "From Owl of Us".

We hope to see you play along. You have until next Sunday evening to create your project.and add the photo to our Facebook page using the link over on the right.

Next on the hop we have Tina:

#CTC281 CASE from Annual Catalogue Punch Bundle Section

CASEing the Punch Bundle Section, pages 168-169:

This picture also happens to use the card I've CASEd - the top picture, which is the third card down on page 168.

I don't own the Field of Flowers punch but the card reminded me instantly of the Painted Poppies I'd used recently so I reached for that set to begin. I stamped the poppies onto Whisper White with Old Olive Ink. To resemble California wild poppies I've coloured with Dark Mango Melody and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends.

The greeting from Special Someone is heat embossed with White Embossing powder onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I've trimmed it to 1/2" thick and instead of a banner, I've used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to give some interest to one side of the greeting. I've adhered this panel onto a diecut of Ornate Layers dies using Old Olive cardstock. I've trimmed it straight as per the CASEd card and popped it all on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Next I've stamped the butterflies from Special Someone in Old Olive - the CASE used four flying critters, but I had to add an extra. To finish it all off, I've used Wink of Stella on both the butterflies and the flowers.

I've even managed to give a bit of inside love to this card using another image from Painted Poppies and the same Blends as above along with Old Olive and again finished with Wink of Stella:

This may give a better idea of the Wink of Stella effect:
