CASEing the Catty - #CTC175 Favourite Occasions Big Shot Project

Over to the Occasions catalogue and this week CASeing our favourite Big Shot project.

Wasn't too hard for me to stop at page 32 as I've already been to this exact photo before, but I moved along a couple of cards and chose the one on the far right.

I've used the thick Whisper White card base and mounted a panel of Wood Textures DSP - you'll be pleased to hear that this DSP will be carrying over to the catalogue again this year!  I know I was. I've used a strip of Tutti Frutti DSP top and bottom of this panel the same way as the cased card, just a different pattern. I've used Whisper White Craft Ink to stamp my bubbles. The bottles from Bubble Over stamped with Peekaboo Peach for the small bottles and Lemon Lime Twist for the large one, then diecut with Bottles & Bubbles Framelits. The labels have the same colours, but reversed the placement so each bottle had a coloured label. I've also added a straw to my open bottle and popped caps on the closed bottles. I mounted the bottles over a strip of mini striped Lemon Lime Twist ribbon with a strip of Silver mini sequins attached to the top. The greeting is from the same Bubble Over stamp set and I used Early Espresso ink to tie in with the wood background.

A bit hard to see above so here's a close up to see a couple of the cute little water drops from the retiring Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.

Please hop over and see what Judy May has been up to this week. After that how about creating a CASe of your favourite Occasions Big Shot Project and add it to our Facebook page with the link on the right...

CASEing the Catty - #CTC162 Sweet Soiree

This week we are CASEing the Occasions Catalogue - pages 10-14.

I was drawn to the cute little Mini Embroidery Hoops on page 14 and have cased the whole photo.

I changed out the box on the left for a Calypso Coral card base stamped with the same colour using the stitched circle from A Good Day. The DSP is Tutti-frutti. My image and greeting are from Sitting Here and I tried a technique I believe is called 'no-line watercolouring'. I used Sahara Sand to stamp with and coloured using my aqua brush. The size of the picture proved to be a bit of a challenge but I like the effect and will try it again with a larger subject sometime. I don't have the scallop punches but reached for the Layering Circles and used the scallop shapes to diecut both images. The image was raised with dimensionals and I popped the Embroidery Hoop on with multipurpose adhesive.  The bow is the new Silver Baker's Twine on page 13 of the catalogue and again used the iridescent sequin assortment for my bling.

The card on the right is a Lemon Lime Twist base with Tutti-frutti DSP added. The banner is whisper white stamped with a greeting from A Good Day. The same Silver Baker's Twine is wrapped around and tied in a bow, then mounted onto the Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon. The little dog is from Bike Ride - isn't he a happy wee fellow? I like how this card makes it all about him and not the bike. His outline was stamped with Soft Suede and the fill was Sahara Sand with a Lemon Lime Twist bandana.

Thanks for stopping by - time to head over and see what Peta has put together to show you, and then why don't you play along - link is just over on the right...

CASEing the Catty - #CTC160 Picture Perfect Party

We're back for the new year and CASEing from the brand new catalogue which went live this week.

I liked the simplicity of the card on the left at the top of page 6, and pretty much followed the layout to the letter except for the position of the sequins.

Because I'm still restricted in my mobility, I chose to dive into that stash we all have - you know the one, the diecuts you made and didn't use but couldn't bear to dispose of??!!  I managed to find two pieces that worked just right for what I wanted. The blushing bride piece which used the Stitched Shapes framelits, and a cute little jar stamped on Whisper white. The goldfish was added first in Peekaboo Peach, then masked to put the Old Olive foliage in. Oops, I realised he needed water! I used the Pool Party Blend marker and got a nice light colouring which was just what I wanted. I tied linen thread a couple of times around the jar, and used mini sequins for some air bubbles. The jar was mounted with dimensionals.

I have used Rich Razzleberry for my background and the DSP is Tutti-frutti (found on pg 29). Funny enough it is what the cased project used, only in a different colour. I chose it because it worked with the diecut I had. Isn't that greeting so appropriate as we welcome in 2018? - Well Hello There!  Unfortunately not a stamp, but from the Sale-a-bration item - Sweet Soiree Memories & More Card Pack. I trimmed it to fit and then used the offcut to trim another piece of the same height for the right hand side to make it look like it was one piece.

Thanks for stopping by - please head over and see what the lovely Julia has created this time... then feel free to play along!
