#CTC363 CASE Favourite Retiring Bundle

CASE your Favourite Retiring Bundle

Always a sad time of the year seeing what won't appear in the next catalogue but mixed with a touch of happy at the lovely new products you'll see in a month.

I've CASEd the Many Layered Blossoms bundle card on Page 158:

This challenge coincided with the need for a Sympathy Card. I started with a base card of Thick Basic White and changed the stencilled background to an embossed layer of Basic White using the Bark 3D Embossing Folder.

The flower layer was made using Highland Heather from the thicker Many Layered Blossoms dies. The top layer was Basic White with Adhesive sheet adhered to the back of it, makes it much easier to match up and attach the two sections together. I then lay all this onto a piece of Hand-Penned DSP and fussy cut so that it filled in as the background without any extra showing.

The greeting from Blossoms in Bloom was stamped in Highland Heather onto a diecut from my spares box and I tucked one end in behind a flower.

The Highland Heather centres of each flower have been touched up using Wink of Stella.

I think I'll have to hang onto this set for just a bit longer.

What is your favourite retiring bundle? Maybe you'll join us with the challenge this week. Make a card using it or CASEing it before next Sunday evening and add it to our Facebook page.

Next up we have our friend Julia and some more of her fabulous scrapbooking:

#CTC361 CASE an Animal Card

CASE an Animal Card from either catalogue:

I have used the card at the top right of Page 44:

For a while I've been wanting to have a play with the Mischievous Mice Hostess set from the January-June mini catalogue. Not a big fan of the real thing especially when they get in my pantry, but these wee guys are pretty harmless.

I've started by stamping the mice in Soft Suede onto a panel of Basic White cardstock and colouring them with my blends. As per the CASE picture part of the subject was stamped off the edge, that's why I didn't mind the whole balloon didn't fit in the picture.

The hello stamp from Blossoms in Bloom was repeat stamped by using the Stamparatus in Soft Suede, Bumblebee and Calypso Coral. The base card is Soft Suede and I've added 1/2" strips of Pattern Party DSP, the original used three different papers but I've stuck with two and alternated them. I've added the coloured panel to finish giving it just a nudge to tip it so it didn't seem too formal.

Unlike me but I've also added a bit of interest on the inside as well:

This card is heading off to the Gold Coast for a wee poppet with a brain tumour. Hope it brightens her day.

Is there an animal card in either of the catalogues that caught your eye? We would love to see you CASE it and add a photo to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening. Use the link over on the right if you like.

Next up we have our friend Rebecca:

#CTC328 CASE Sketch on Page 33

CASE the Sketch on Page 33 by using this photo

Or use the sketch version:
I've looked at the photo and saw three objects on an embossed panel with a layered greeting and twine on top of a full front of DSP - which is what I've recreated.

I've chosen Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP for my full front panel (FYI, I couldn't help sneaking a Stitched Rectangle diecut for a future project behind the panel where it will never be missed!). My front panel is Basic White embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing folder. From Fresh Freesia cardstock I've diecut three butterflies with the Brilliant Wings Dies and attached the abdomen only so the wings could be lifted.

My greeting is from Blossoms in Bloom, inked with Gorgeous Grape and stamped onto Pale Papaya cardstock, with Fresh Freesia cardstock as my faux ribbon. A piece of Baker's twine has been added to the back of the greeting and adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. This was all added a a Basic White card base.

The Specialty DSP is the hero of the card!

We can't wait to see your take of the sketch challenge this week. Add your project to our Facebook page using the link over to the right before next Sunday evening.

Tme to hop on to see what the rest of the crew have created! Next stop is Rebecca:

#CTC284 CASE from Annual Catalogue Die Bundle Section

CASE from the Die Bundle Section of the Annual Catalogue - pages 173-179

The card on the bottom on the picture was my inspiration using the Blossoms in Bloom bundle!
I thought the colours looked amazing together and just changed them around a little bit.

I was also recently inspired by a fellow Demonstrator, Tracy Held from Australia, who showed us her version of the split card technique - I'd seen it before but never given it a go. Tracy made me feel a little more confident and so I wish to give her some credit as I just went from her video and didn't look up anyone else. Thanks Tracy!

I've started by applying adhesive sheet to the back of a piece of Whisper White cardstock and diecut with the Many Layered Blossoms top layer die and my Stampin' Cut & Emboss - seriously still impressed that one pass cuts all the fiddly bits out! Next I stamped the Blossoms in Bloom large flower in Basic Gray ink onto Smokey Slate cardstock. The cardstock is twice the size of my normal top layer at this stage. I've removed the adhesive cover from the diecut and placed it over the stamped image. I've then used my guillotine to chop the cardstock in half - making two card fronts from one image!

I chose to rotate one of them so that my cards both placed the image on the left. I've used So Saffron cardstock to cut some of the smaller flowers with the Many Layered Blossoms die bottom layer, and then Blackberry Bliss for the matching shape in the top layer. I've attached the flowers to the card top using a glue dot.

I've used Versamark then Blackberry Bliss ink and covered with Clear Embossing powder before heat setting  the greetings from Blossoms in Bloom. They were punched out using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch according to their height and added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Each has a mat of Blackberry Bliss and a base of Thick Whisper White cardstock.

The crew would love to see you play along. Once you've joined the Facebook Challenge page - CASE a card, take a photo and post it using the link over on the right. Next up we have our lovely leader, Rebecca

#CTC272 CASE the Flowers of the Annual Catalogue Week 1

So many flowers in the annual catalogue to CASE which means you have plenty of choice this fortnight. Hope you'll play along using the link over on the right:

I haven't ventured too far in to find this cute picture on page 10:

I've used the stamp set Jar of Flowers, and stamped the jar in Misty Moonlight onto Whisper White card. I've added the leaves and flowers using Black Memento ink and coloured with Stampin' Blends of Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party.

I've wrapped (retired) Old Olive Baker's Twine around the card and adhered it to a mat of Poppy Parade. I stamped the greeting from Blossoms in Bloom onto a scrap of Smokey Slate with Black Memento Ink and adhered it to line up with the mat edge. Stampin' Dimensionals were added to the back of the Poppy Parade panel onto a card base of Old Olive with the bow added to finish.

This cute stamp set has a matching punch, and I'm sure it will get a lot of use in my craft room.

Next up please visit Lauren to see what her inspiration has been this week, and what she turned it into:
