#CTC177 - Favourite Retiring Project

What's yours??

A hard one to pick but I've gone with page 162

Rose Wonder and the co-ordinating Rose Garden Thinlits are a multi occasion item in my stash, so I'll definitely miss them and more!  In fact today's project uses four retiring items.

I've used thick Whisper White with the fold at the top of the card for this set. I've chosen the ombre pattern papers from the (retiring) Color Theory DSP. The largest die was used to cut out  the silver Although this glimmer paper is going, there will be a new thinner model in the next catalogue to replace it. As you can see these cards can be whipped up pretty quickly. The strip of sparkle under the greeting is the (retiring) Myths and Magic Specialty washi tape the greeting itself is from (also retiring) Teeny Tiny Sentiments, with silvery heat embossing. Silver seqins from the Metallic assortment.

Feel the urge to play along? Please do! Create your card and use the link over on the right...  Now time to pop over and visit the talented Liz Gross with her stunning card using the same greeting set as I did.

Balloon Birthday card

When this posts, I will be in Melbourne supporting my daughter's volleyball team - Burnside High School -  Go girls!!  While they are away one of the team will be celebrating her birthday, so here's I made this for the team to write in and if you have this set it may give you some inspiration for using it:

This card size is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.  The strips of colour behind the hot air balloon are easy as there is a die to cut it for you - go figure!  The greeting is from Tin of Cards and was stamped onto Whisper White then cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits, (hopefully it won't be too long before these are back in the shop), the Rich Razzleberry circle was cut from the same dies. The colour I chose to contrast was Emerald Envy. The large numbers were cut from Silver glimmer paper, 'cos a girl has to have some bling.  You can't see the detail of the background in the top picture, but I used the Fluttering TIEF and will give you a different light and angle to make it easier. Thanks for stopping by.

Onstage 2016 - Stamp set Showcase

Recently I went to Auckland to attend our Onstage Local Event, and was honoured to be asked to showcase the stamp set "Every Occasion".  That meant 10 minutes in the hot seat and I can confess to being quite nervous!  However, I got through it and people seemed to be interested in what I had created - and I received some lovely comments - if you were one of those people - Thank You!  It meant a lot.

The baby card was Bermuda Bay contrasted with Soft Sky.  You can just see the onesie as a background stamp and then textured with the Lovely Lace TIEF.  Layered Letters alphabet for the main greeting along with 'Baby' from Tin of Cards.

I then showed a set I had created easily by using the 'punch poo' from the Hearth and Home framelits! You've been waiting for someone to suggest a use for all those bits for a while... haven't you? The images easily teamed up with the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.  I made a box with the Envelope Punch board to hold them all together..

Clean and Simple for #GDP026

The Global Design Project has again inspired me.  The last time I think I entered was also a Teneale inspired sketch (it was a while ago though).  I used the Thick Whisper White for my base and standard Whisper White for the top layer which was embossed with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder.  A strip of silver glimmer down each side and the rose was reverse cut from Silver Glimmer Paper with the Rose Garden Thinlit Dies. The banner is stamped in Smokey Slate from Number of Years and die cut using the Large Numbers Framelits.  The sentiment came from (and could have been swapped out for several of) the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set.

Another Birthday for #GDP010

Teneale provided the sketch this week and I decided to keep it simple (this is difficult for me, I usually keep on adding, so I took the photo quickly - before I could be tempted...)  Instead of punching the white banners and adding them to the squares, I have punched the banners out of the Blackberry Bliss squares and used one of them as the fourth square.  The hearts were punched out of Silver Glimmer Paper with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch  Pack and adhered to each of the banner cutouts, while the Teeny Tiny Sentiments greeting fit my occasion.... Happy Birthday for Friday Aunty - PS your card might be late!!
