#CTC317 Say Hello to the New Catalogue

New Catalogue time - how exciting!!

I'm enjoying the Quiet Meadow bundle and with a need to make some special cards, turned to page 110 for my inspiration and went with the card 2nd from the left.

Instead of the embossing paste background, I've chosen a base of thick Very Vanilla and added a mat of Very Vanilla embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

Next I've stamped the floral image from Quiet Meadow onto Crumb Cake cardstock and using a retired 1/2" circle punch snipped the corners. I've attached that to the card and added a Very Vanilla diecut sprig of foliage using Meadow Dies. I've attached some retired Powder Pink ribbon for a more feminine look then added a greeting which was stamped in Black Memento ink onto Melon Mambo cardstock and diecut with Meadow Dies. To finish I've used retired From My Heart Faceted Gems - how appropriate for Mother's Day cards?

I chose to leave out the words and speckles for a cleaner look, but think I'll be CASEing that again as it is a fun look.

Hope all you Mums are having a lovely relaxing day with family celebrating your special day.

We look forward to you sharing your CASE of Saying Hello to the New Catalogue. If you haven't got your copy yet, you can see it online with the link over on the right hand side of this page. Then scroll down a bit further and you'll find another link to load your photo to our Facebook page before next Sunday evening.

Next up we have our lovely crew member - Monique:

#CTC269 Favourite Retiring Bundle Week 2

Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely Mums - hope you've had an enjoyable day with your bubble mates!  This fortnight we CASE our favourite Retiring Bundle from either catalogue:

Yes, you guessed it - for me it will definitely be the Honey Bee bundle on page 30 of the Mini catalogue:

I've teamed it with the now retired Sale-a-bration Golden Honey Specialty DSP and Basic Black cardstock to make a Joy Fold card for our mothers:

The DSP has done most of the work using the Detailed Bee Dies. I've stamped a Crushed Curry beehive from the Honey Bee stamp set onto Whisper White card and diecut along with a large gold bee for the front with the greeting in Black Memento Ink.

The bee on the left has been raised with a Stampin' Dimensional and helps the front to stay closed.

Inside the card I've used the greeting from Tea Together in Black Memento ink and a couple more diecuts.

The Gold really stands out against the Black and White although it is hard to capture in a photo.

Let's hop on over to check out my friend Bec's cute card, and then we hope you'll play along using the link over on the right:

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to anyone this may apply to. Had to wait until today to post so no spoilers for recipients who may have been loitering around my blog - haha...

I have been enjoying some time out with a load of other mothers at a scrapbook retreat this weekend. Thanks Christine and Cathy for organising such a great weekend.

My card was entered into the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge #CTC126 "Mother's Day", and although not a winner (there were only two entries!), I was chosen for the Crew Pick for the colouring in my case of pg 24 of the Occasions catalogue.

I stamped the lady image from Beautiful You, then masked her and white embossed an image from Mediterranean Moments then sponged the colour on. I used the watercolour pencils for the lady and umbrella. The dsp backgrounds are from the soon to retire Serene Scenery - I matched each with the same colour base card. The greeting is from Crazy About You and was embossed with Gold onto vellum. Popped a half doily under the mat and finished with a little clip and baker's twine bow.
