Welcome readers - this week sees the Holiday Catalogue go live, and today we are being inspired by creations from pages 4-9. We welcome Cathy Pinchback as our Guest Designer.
My CASe comes from this image on page 4 - bottom left, but with a couple of twists. As you can see, I'm not quite ready for thinking of Christmas, but I know it will have to happen soon.
I've taken the layout idea, and switched Lemon Lime Twist for Real Red by using the Fresh Florals DSP Stack. My take of the 3 cottons was to use the three trees from Lovely as a Tree - (one of the longest serving stamp sets Stampin' Up has had) stamped in Early Espresso. Wood Textures DSP for the banner with a doily attached. The colour on the trees was done by scribbling a little bit of Lemon Lime marker on to acetate and spritzing then pressing over each tree, I didn't want the colour outside the tree and the result is the slightly blurred colours which I was wanting without too much colour. This technique is popular at the moment for backgrounds, if you haven't done so, you need to try it. The image was then diecut using the largest Stitched Shapes Framelit square. Greeting from Bella & Friends.
Time to hop over and see Rachel's cute creations!
We are not very good at sending cards to our extended family, but when I learned someone was starting school, I decided a special card was in order. Although it was a little late, I hope she enjoyed receiving this card. It started off being a quick and easy card, but things got added as I went along! Hard to tell what is going on, but it is a shaker card. And as I do - created it the hard way!
My intention was to upcycle the foam left over after mounting my Reverse Words. I stamped Hooray in Melon Mambo onto my Thick Whisper White card base - then added the foam after removing the red rubber from it. Popped in some sequins and added the acetate to hold my sequins in place. I stamped Bella on Whisper White and fussy cut around half of her so I could get the Stiched Shapes oval die under her to cut the oval, and the same idea from the Melon Mambo mat. The 5 was cut from Melon Mambo and Basic Black and I like how it hovers over the edge. I could see a little foam which I didn't want, so popped a few flowers around the edge and some birthday bling, and added 5 balloons instead of the 1 Bella usually has. I see now I forgot to add more strings, but I don't think she'll mind too much.
The inside has another Bella image and greeting:
Today's inspiration comes from the first official challenge from a new Facebook Group, called Colour INKspiration.#CI01 is already providing loads of inspiration!
I have used all six colours but we only needed to use at least three: Mint Macaron for my wallpaper and leaves, Tempting Turquoise for my Hearth & Home Window frame and backing mat, Blushing Bride table, Sweet Sugarplum Vase (Pretty Kitty) and tablecloth (Delightful Details), So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach along with Whisper White for the Botannical Builder flowers and a few of these colours for the Mediterranean Moments scene out the window. The greeting is from Bella and Friends. Hoping to play along with this group some more in the future and thanks for the motivation.
Welcome to our International Visual Blog Hop using current Stampin' Up!® Products. What a great selection of projects for you to be inspired by! We would appreciate it if you could hop around and visit all of our blogs to see a close up of our projects. Our theme this month is "LOVE" because as Card makers we LOVE spreading the love! Check out the gallery below, this will be on every blog that you click on so you will never be lost.
As our darling daughter has a birthday coming up - it seemed only fitting to combine the biggest love of our lives with the Love challenge! I think I'll be safe in her not seeing it before the day as exams are finished today and apparently some social time to catch up on.
Yes, back to an old favourite - the Mini Treat bag and matching card. Blushing Bride cardstock and Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper teamed with Whisper White. The contrast is the linen thread wrapped around the bag.
Happy Heart TIEF to add interest to the bag, although I chose to use the debossed side. The banner is made using the hearts line up from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits with strips of BB Glimmer Paper behind and on top. The end of the banner was made using the heart shape upside down, I felt it tied up the theme more. Hello You Thinlits for the Happy has been raised using dimensionals and Tin of cards stamp set for Birthday word. Tin of cards for the greeting on the front of the card as well.
The heart shape cut from the front is also from the Mini Treat framelits, When cut out I lined up another from the glimmer paper, and adhered to the next page. The background was made using the Playful Backgrounds - stamped off with Blushing Bride Ink, and the circles were embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. But wait - there's more...
Yes - a mini trifold - if you're interested in trying this yourself - Whisper White was cut to 4 3/4" x 10 1/2", scored at 3 1/2" and 7". I folded then punched my corners with the Envelope Punch board.
The greeting is from Wild about Flowers, and being animal owners, they both had to feature, thanks to Bella and Friends, and Pretty Kitty. Number of Years to highlight the age, which used Large Number framelits.
Thanks for visiting today - if you are interested - both the Large Number framelits and Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper are featured on the Online Extravaganza - (if you are in NZ, use the Shop Now button - and overseas visitors - see your demonstrator). Offer expires Monday - 28th November! Same day as this card will be given. Big thanks to Kylie Bertucci for organising this hop...
Another set I was attracted to in the holiday catalogue was the Ghoulish Grunge... not because of the Halloween theme it is based on, (as it is not something we do in our house), but because of the interesting variety of textures. I'm only going to show you one today, and that is the brick - however, don't be mislead, this image has been stamped twice. The challenge asked for Pear Pizzazz, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight. Using Pretty Kitty, the rest speaks for itself.

Has been a busy time of late and when the opportunity to attend a crop day arose, I grabbed the chance to have some craft time, and what better way than to include some colouring? I haven't rushed into the adult colouring book craze, but choose instead to stamp and colour. The parrot and puppy from Bella and Friends are what I wish to share with you today, using some of my retired DSP and cardstock. Aren't they just delightful? Check out the other images on page 101 of your catalogue.
