#CTC221 - Needlepoint Nook

The crew are headed to pages 38-41 of the 2019 Occasions catalogue this week:

I stopped at the layout on page 38, and took pieces from a few of the cards. The first thing to inspire me was the Balmy Blue pincushion. Not a go to colour for me, but it was good to play with colours I don't use a lot of. The next thing I spotted was the doily. From there I just got to it. I sponged the reverse of a pearlised doily (tip: don't try and be hasty by dabbing the doily directly onto your ink pad, it gives too much ink and creates a much darker doily! #askmehowiknow).

The base card is thick Whisper White with a mat of Balmy Blue. Next layer as above was the Wood Textures DSP. I've trimmed my doily unevenly and added both bits as they were a bit smaller than the look above (plus I hate waste). The flowers are Crushed Curry and Berry Burst made with the Springtime Impressions thinlits. My interpretation of the thread above was to coil it as in the middle card and then add a bow using the Old Olive Linen Thread shown on page 39. The sentiment from Perennial Birthday is stamped in Berry Burst onto Whisper White, punched with they Tailored Tag Punch and added to another of the same punch using Berry Burst, and cut in half. The pins from the inspiration were replaced with pearls.

Now please pop over and check out what Judy has to show us. Then why not play along? We love to see your work, just post your creation on our Facebook page using the link over on the right.
