#CTC180 - Favourite Retiring Project

Last week of the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue and the Occasions Catalogue. Have you decided what your favourite retiring project is?

For me it had to be butterflies, and I've chosen the image on page 134, bottom left with a bit more colour involved:

I stamped the rows of dots from Watercolor Wings in Flirty Flamingo onto thick Whisper White and then washed over with the same colour, using the ink pad as a paint palette and then watered it down. When dry, I trimmed to size and cut the largest butterfly from Butterflies Thinlits.

I also used a piece of watercolour paper and spritzed it then added Prussian Blue, Yellow and Gamboge Brusho and spritzed again to mix the colours, allowing it to dry before diecutting the main butterfly. I painted the centre of the body with Chocolate Chip marker and used Fine Tip glue over that to to make it shine.

The base card had the smaller dots image stamped in Tempting Turquoise in opposing diagonal corners. Then it was a bit like a jigsaw puzzle adhering the pieces to the card. The greeting is also from Watercolor Wings and mounted onto a strip of Flirty Flamingo, with both pieces banner cut. I trimmed a piece of the Myths and Magic Specialty Washi and added it above the greeting. Gold metallic thread wound round a few times and placed behind the greeting strip before adhering with dimensionals over the butterfly. Lastly some Iridescent sequins.

Wonder if you feel inspired to join us with the last hurrah to the catalogue this week? Please do, you'll find the link to join over on the right. Time now to pop over and see what Mel has to share with us:
