#CTC186 - Birthday

Hello again, here we are CASEing the Birthday section, pages 66-79

I happened to have been playing with the Best Bunny bundle on page 36 recently, and had a little fellow just waiting for a card to hop onto. I found it on page 77:

I went with a card base of Blackberry Bliss (loved this colour when it was last here and pleased to welcome it back!). The Detailed Floral thinlits provided the cutouts of my Whisper white layer, which I've wrapped with Silver Baker's Twine adding a bow, and popped onto the base with Stampin' Dimensionals. In lieu of a scalloped circle, I've used a Mint Macaroon shape cut from the Foliage Frame framelits. I've cut a Whisper White circle with the Layering Circles framelits, and used Pineapple Punch to sponge the colour behind my featured Best Bunny. This is a co-ordinating Punch and stamp set, and he has 3 delightful expressions to choose from. I've stamped this guy in Gray Granite and used the (retired) Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends to colour with.  The greeting is stamped in Blackberry Bliss and comes from the set Happy Birthday Gorgeous, with a little banner punched at each end.  A few iridescent sequins to finish.

Hope you feel inspired to play along and post using the link over on the right. Meanwhile, please pop in and see what Rachel has created for us this week:

#CTC180 - Favourite Retiring Project

Last week of the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue and the Occasions Catalogue. Have you decided what your favourite retiring project is?

For me it had to be butterflies, and I've chosen the image on page 134, bottom left with a bit more colour involved:

I stamped the rows of dots from Watercolor Wings in Flirty Flamingo onto thick Whisper White and then washed over with the same colour, using the ink pad as a paint palette and then watered it down. When dry, I trimmed to size and cut the largest butterfly from Butterflies Thinlits.

I also used a piece of watercolour paper and spritzed it then added Prussian Blue, Yellow and Gamboge Brusho and spritzed again to mix the colours, allowing it to dry before diecutting the main butterfly. I painted the centre of the body with Chocolate Chip marker and used Fine Tip glue over that to to make it shine.

The base card had the smaller dots image stamped in Tempting Turquoise in opposing diagonal corners. Then it was a bit like a jigsaw puzzle adhering the pieces to the card. The greeting is also from Watercolor Wings and mounted onto a strip of Flirty Flamingo, with both pieces banner cut. I trimmed a piece of the Myths and Magic Specialty Washi and added it above the greeting. Gold metallic thread wound round a few times and placed behind the greeting strip before adhering with dimensionals over the butterfly. Lastly some Iridescent sequins.

Wonder if you feel inspired to join us with the last hurrah to the catalogue this week? Please do, you'll find the link to join over on the right. Time now to pop over and see what Mel has to share with us:

CASEing the Catty - #CTC161 Sale-a-Bration

CASEing from the new Sale-a-Bration catalogue - any page! Welcome if you've just arrived from Megan's sweet card...

I chose to adapt the front of the bag on page 12.

My stamp set of choice was one we received at Onstage Gold Coast and I hadn't had a chance to use a lot - Bird Banter.  I went with a toucan, a parrot and a budgie and stamped each in the same colour as the background cardstock used - Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight. I also sponged around all the coloured edges. The Whisper White background was embossed with Petal Burst and mounted onto the same colour thick base. A couple of snippets of ribbon have been adhered under the 1 /34" circle. The greeting has been chopped and each word has Bermuda Bay around the edge and popped onto the circle along with a fussy cut parrot coloured with an aquabrush and markers in the same colours already used. The bling is from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment and a touch of Wink of Stella on the main bird...

Thanks for all your kind messages and I'm pleased to say, I've advanced to a crutch and ditched the frame. Happy days! Am definitely appreciating my mobility, even though I've got a bit of a way to go.

Hope this inspires you to play along this week. But now pop over to see what Judy has created for you this time round...
