#CTC269 Favourite Retiring Bundle Week 2

Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely Mums - hope you've had an enjoyable day with your bubble mates!  This fortnight we CASE our favourite Retiring Bundle from either catalogue:

Yes, you guessed it - for me it will definitely be the Honey Bee bundle on page 30 of the Mini catalogue:

I've teamed it with the now retired Sale-a-bration Golden Honey Specialty DSP and Basic Black cardstock to make a Joy Fold card for our mothers:

The DSP has done most of the work using the Detailed Bee Dies. I've stamped a Crushed Curry beehive from the Honey Bee stamp set onto Whisper White card and diecut along with a large gold bee for the front with the greeting in Black Memento Ink.

The bee on the left has been raised with a Stampin' Dimensional and helps the front to stay closed.

Inside the card I've used the greeting from Tea Together in Black Memento ink and a couple more diecuts.

The Gold really stands out against the Black and White although it is hard to capture in a photo.

Let's hop on over to check out my friend Bec's cute card, and then we hope you'll play along using the link over on the right:

#CTC267 Ornate Garden Week 2

This fortnight we are CASEing the Ornate Garden suite for #CTC267 and have been instructed to use the flowers as inspiration:

The card at the top (which was from a video on the Stampin' Up!) website inspired me:

I've used a base of thick Whisper White. My mat layer is a full card size front of Perennial Essence DSP. I've embossed with the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder and gently sanded the top of the embossing to show the white core:

I've cut three Stitched Nested Labels die shapes from Soft Sea Foam cardstock and stamped the flower stalk from Daisy Lane in Pretty Peacock onto each shape then adhered them to the embossed layer. My daisies are Petal Pink ink onto Whisper White card stock, stamped twice for each flower and cut with the Medium Daisy Punch. I've coloured the centres with the Light Mango Melody Stampin' Blend and adhered using a Stampin' Dimensional. The centres have been filled with Shimmery Crystal Effects.

The greeting from Varied Vases was stamped onto Whisper White using Pretty Peacock ink. My banner is a scrap of Soft Sea Foam which is rubbed with my bone folder to break the fibres on the cardstock and peeled the layers apart. I then rolled each end in opposite directions and stuck the greeting to it, raising it all with Stampin' Dimensionals. I felt it was all a little bit too neat and same-same,so I quickly added a Honey Bee stamped with Pretty Peacock and diecut with the Detailed Bees dies.

This angle may make the banner make more sense:

Trusting this finds you and your family bubbles safe and well. We would love you to play along with the crew this week. Just use the link over on the right to add your photo to our Facebook page. Next up please visit our lovely Kathryn and her beautiful pastel cards:

#CTC265 - 2nd Release Sale-a-Bration Week 2

CASE the second release Sale-a-bration Brochure:

I've headed back to page 6 - this time the image top right:

This has been a popular choice with the crew.

I've used a base of thick Whisper White and a mat of Basic Black.  My DSP has been swapped out for a pattern with the leftovers from the honeycomb die.  I used it as a placement, and stuck the little hexagons into place - because, well - who wants to waste Gold Foil??

The rectangles have been diecut with the Rectangle Stitched Dies and matted with Whisper White. All the images used the Detailed Bees dies and the beautiful Golden Honey Specialty DSP from the Sale-a-bration offer. I will miss this so much when it goes!  The greeting is from the Honey Bee stamp set using Memento Black ink and Whisper White cardstock, with a strip of the gold and black pattern from the same Golden Honey Specialty DSP

Kenny wasn't sure why the cats got all the photos and wanted to be involved - the little hair bear that he is - #desperateforahaircut #dogsruletoo

Gotta love the bees!! And gold ...

What a time we are having. Trust you are all taking on board the advisories we are given. Look after youself and your families. Take care. If you find time to craft you might like to play along - you have one more week to use the 2nd release Sale-a-bration catalogue.  Next up you'll find our lovely Lauren. Can't wait to see what she has for us:

#CTC263 CASE the Colours of Kerchief Card Kit Week 1

Case the colours of the Kerchief Card Kit - Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso, Gold, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, White. (I've crossed out the ones I didn't use!)

Yes, I caved and bought the Honey Bee bundle and am so pleased with it! For some reason I thought I had enough bee images but it appears there's always room for just one more (LOL)!!

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock and sponged Coastal Cabana ink on the centre, then I dripped/flicked some water onto the sponged area and allowed it to dry. I've inked the greeting from Peaceful Moments but masked half off at a time and stamped on the top left, then the remainder on the bottom right using Night of Navy ink. Using the same ink I stamped a couple of bees (I think they look more like bugs actually!) and diecut them with the Detailed Bee dies. I've diecut a piece of Gold Foil sheet, not quite through, then I moved the die on my piece of foil turned it around and ran it not quite through, there was only a tiny bit that actually cut through. (This meant I ended up with a piece of honeycomb twice as big as the die if you don't see what I mean there) I've left a few of the hexagon pieces in and adhered all to the top of the sponged area.

When I was happy with the front, I added it to a mat of Night of Navy before adhering to a Coastal Cabana base. I then added a tiny Poppy Parade heart using the same dies. My bees (bugs) were added with Stampin' Dimensionals.

That honeycomb die is just the cutest! I think it will get a good workout here.

Last weekend hubby and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary, so this card was made for him! On the inside a Coastal Cabana beehive with a greeting from Well Said in Night of Navy, this time the bugs are departing the hive and there's the other little heart from the Detailed Bees dies.

Hope to see you play along! You have two weeks to choose your colour combination from above and make your card - then add using the link over on the right. Meantime please visit Peta and her stunning project:
