#CTC381 CASE Boughs of Holly Suite

CASE the Boughs of Holly Suite - page 24 of the July - December Mini Catalogue:

I've chosen to CASE the colours of the DSP in this suite: Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Poppy Parade, Mossy Meadow, Evening Evergreen and Shaded Spruce.

I've stamped the largest image from Blessings of Home using Evening Evergreen onto Basic White cardstock.

I've coloured this image using Stampin' Blends in the remaining colours using both light and dark options and mixing the colour combos to give differing results..

The greeting is from Peaceful Moments stamped using Evening Evergreen ink.

I've matted the coloured image with Mossy Meadow cardstock and attached it to a base of Thick Basic White.

Simple Stamping - Stamps, Ink, Cardstock (and Blends).

We hope to see you play along with the challenge this week. Check out Page 24 of the July-December mini catalogue. Create your card and post a photo to our Facebook page using the link over on the right before next Sunday evening.

Next on the hop we have Michelle with her fabulous Birthday card:

#CTC247 Holiday Catalogue Punch Project

The crew are using a Punch Project from the Holiday Catalogue this week:

Image may contain: text

I procrastinated way too much and that left me creating my card just in time to capture the photo in natural light - too many cute projects to choose from!  You've got all week - don't be like me, make your card and add it to our Facebook page using the link over on the right.

In the end I have settled on a card on page 27 using the Moose Punch:

I pretty much CASEd the layout and colours only swapping a couple of things. I opted not to use a punch, but the masking technique instead.

I've used a base of thick Whisper White, and adhered a panel of the lovely Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP. I chose a piece that had Cherry Cobbler in it, so that it would tie in the colour of my inked greeting. On a separate piece of Whisper White, I've stamped my main image from Nature's Beauty in Early Espresso, and although the moose had a matching 'fill' image, I've left my image clean. I've inked another image on a scrap piece to fussy cut and used this as a mask. I've used a combination of Coastal Cabana and Pool Party inks to stamp the foliage. Finally I've stamped a greeting from Itty Bitty Christmas in Cherry Cobbler ink, although this #simplestamping project could be used for any occasion. This panel was then adhered to the base card overlapping the DSP.

Once I had finally decided, it took so little time to create, I actually felt a bit guilty. So I decided to make another:

Then I didn't want to see the little fox miss out, even though we don't have them in our country - he is just a bit cute

The wildlife all together:

The colours I chose didn't actually look as though they would work with the DSP I went with, however the beauty of Stampin' Up! is that all the colours work so well together, even if they aren't in the same family.

Time now to visit the lovely Peta and her super cute project - think I may have to CASE her!

#CTC228 Favourite Retiring Stamp Set

The Crew have a few options this week when they CASE their favourite retiring stamp set.

No photo description available.

Yes, I have many to choose from, but in the end picked one that has had a lot of love and you'll find it on page 138 of the annual catalogue:

I decided to push the boat out a little more and take on the Stampin' Up! demonstrators May #simplestamping Challenge.
Criteria:     Theme - Anything
                  Supplies - Stamp, Ink, Paper
Twist - Feature your favourite retiring stamp set
#simplestamping does not come easily to me, I seem to always add just a little more, but not this time!!

I've chosen another retiring Stamp set - Wood Words for the foliage stamp which is so tiny and detailed. I've used Crushed Curry ink and stamped in the middle of a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I've then used Black Memento ink with the fabulous bee image and greeting from Dragonfly Dreams. I've matted that piece with Crushed Curry cardstock and added Stampin' Dimensionals to attach to my base. It was #seriouslysimple!!

I felt like I was cheating a bit when I was done, even though I'd left this to the last minute! So I made another using just the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set:

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll be inspired to join the challenge this week. Make your card and post to our Facebook page using the link over to the right.  Before that - please pop over and visit the fabulous Bec and her lovely project using another of my favourites:
